I do not, and will not, hire anyone with tattoos--either as a provider or as an employee. Don't people with tattoos realize what they are going to look like when they get older? IT IS NOT PRETTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Old generally isn't pretty. Old with tats has about the same aesthetic appeal as old without tats.

Well in this day and age not hiring someone with some ink will severely limit your hiring pool....escort OR employees.

As for “when they get older” consider how MANY of them will have ink as they age, it will be “de rigueur” and commonplace within their demographic

One of the beautiful things about having tats is that it is a very direct route to being able to not worry about what others think of you.

I have one tattoo and am thinking of getting 2 half sleeves that may eventually become full sleeves. I didn't realize the importance of my current tattoo till recently and I've had it since I was about 31. My one sleeve will be a reminder of my battle and beating cancer. The other will be the continuing battle (Im undetectable) with HIV. These are not just some willy nilly cartoon character tattos. If one doesn't want to hire me cause I have ink thats on them and they are entitled to do whatever they want with their money. But I'm a pretty awesome person and it's their loss, not mine.

Hugs,

Greg

Do you think you need to be reminded about beating cancer and HIV visually? Are those things you don’t think about on a daily basis anyways?

Isn’t an investment in something like stocks / crypto almost always more fiscally-sound than getting a tattoo? Especially sleeves, which aren’t cheap...

Not trying to be judgmental, just would like to hear from another’s perspective

I already do that. And for many their ink is a story a reminder of a certain path they had to go on. My body,my cash, my choice. Don't like it? Don't look at it. A friend of mine lost one of her babies. She had an elephant tattooed on her finger. It symbolizes the love mother elephants have for their young and that they never forget. I think it's very fitting for her. And I would never criticize her for having it.

Hugs,

Greg

As someone who would never get a tattoo and dislikes the look of most full-color tattoos, I am bemused as to why this form of self-expression receives such visceral hate. It borders on "hot men only exist to give me visual (and other) pleasure."

Accept that other people have autonomy over what they do with their bodies. Is that really so hard? No one has the right to dictate others' choices.

It is odd. The tattoo police take another's tattoos very personally, as though it's an affront directed specifically at them.

I genuinely want to understand.

I think people should have the right to ownership over their bodies. I’m trying to see it from another perspective, hence the specific question.

Your going to get many different answers. My answer was one.

Greg

You questioned Greg's priorities in a rather condescending manner. If you were truly trying to understand, was it necessary for you to give him gratuitous advice about managing his finances? I always mistrust people who say they just "want to understand." There's almost always an unattractive agenda waiting to be exposed.

Imagining yourself as someone for whom a tattoo would be meaningful is what's needed here. If that's not possible, there's no way not to come across as judgmental.
