While not so invested to scream at the TV, I also thought a backdoor would have been wiser.

I wonder what happens to a person like Josh, when he goes home. Realizes hes been shown to be a dumb, emotional mess on National TV. Realizes that housemates were using him. Its part of the game, and any rational person should anticipate it.... but I dont think that guy's rational.

If I were a houseguest, Id vote out Josh, because I think hes too unstable to be of much value... even to exploit as a distraction or bigger target. Caveat: I only know how hes portrayed 3-hours/week.

I frequently remind myself that what we see during the 1-hour primetimes is highly edited. The editors also manipulate the audience, presumably to keep us intrigued.

How many times have they shown clips on Thursdays, indicating one eviction outcome, only to later show the entire house voting to evict the other?

Some TV editing strategies havent evolved much since they told us to tune in next time, Same Bat-Time, same Ba-Channel.

Cody trying to act enthusiastic about Christmas having been in a NASCAR pit crew was the weirdest of all. It was like he was thinking, "Is this a smile? Is this how you do it? I'll do it some more!!"

Yes. To say that he is stoic would be a gross understatement. I find his intense focus very attractive, but he seems to have a very rigid sense of what is right and what is wrong. I bet he'd be a nightmare to live with.

I subscribe to the 24/7 live feeds and believe me, in Josh's case, what you see is what you get. When he gets out of the house and realizes that his great friend/mentor Paul was just using him as a chip to manipulate "the other side of the house" I would not be surprised if he no longer remains friends with Paul, or for that matter, any of them. He needs to grow up but I doubt that will happen anytime soon, in the house or at home in Miami. He believes sincerely that he is America's favorite and will have all sorts of fame when he leaves the house. Quite sad, really.

I dont say it lightly or cattily - I think that guy needs therapy.

I dont think only friendships are at stake. I genuinely believe that when people as delusional as Josh seems are smacked in the face with reality - they can suffer some form of break.

And I wouldnt be surprised that, if he stays in the house, he'll be found one day curled in the fetal position and weeping uncontrollably.

Theyre all a little out there - it makes for better drama. But hes irrational.

Well, there have already been times when he did huddle in bed, crying his eyes out for real, not faking it as he has this week. The incident where he insisted to Mark that he won the pool game even though he scratched the 8 ball is typical. Mark should have been the adult but listened to Elena and thought throwing pickle juice & hot sauce in his face would be a funny joke. Bad idea.

What he did trying to psyche out Jessica and Cody during the HOH comp, then bawling his eyes out when Jessica called him on it is also unfortunately typical for him. Therapy? He needs some tough love from someone who really cares about him. He will never find that in the Big Brother house!

I don’t watch the live feeds, but occasionally check out mortystv.com for updates on the house guests. The site has detailed daily summaries written by people watching the live feeds.

There was an interesting conversation a week or so ago between a few of the houseguests about their “fame.” One of them said that whatever business plans they have in mind, they need to jump on them as soon as they are out of the house to capitalize on their fame.

I do watch the live feeds although I don't get my money's worth because I don't watch often. There was a long discussion among Elena, Mark, and Paul about masturbating, Elena asking them if they needed visual stimulation. Paul said no, his imagination was all he needed, but Mark gave a sheepish grin and said, "I like porn." To which Paul replied, "That's honest." Mark described jerking off on the living room couch when his ex wasn't in the mood, and that was what grossed Elena out. "You did it in the LIVING ROOM?"

Mmmmm. Mark masturbating. Mmmmmm. ;):p:cool:

It was pretty funny. He said he's been horny all day but his ex wanted "nothing to do with " him. She went to bed and he was watching football, but he pulled up some porn on his phone and jerked off to that. As soon as he finished his ex came back and wanted to have sex, and he told her he'd just cum. She thought he'd been jerking off to the football game,

It's pretty surprising sometimes on the live feeds what the HG's share with each other, besides all three showmances this season having done (and continue doing) the deed without really much fanfare. I thought maybe, with the way Elena is so controlling of Mark, they might wait until they left the house, but no. If I recall, there have been numerous seasons over the years where they shared each others' "how I lost my virginity" stories, sometimes in pretty graphic detail!

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm somewhat fond of Mark. This image might help explain why...

Damn! There is no way that was accidental. So is he just trying to get some sun on his ass? He certainly loves showing it off! I really never thought of the houseguests playing to the 24-hour feeds, but he is certainly doing it.

He is a bit too beefy for my taste, but he does have some overgrown boyish charm.

Wow!!!! That explains a lot. Cody is probably a bit messed up. He just admitted to Jess he has no friends, no girlfriend, is not close with his family. He has no social game because he's not social... like for real. This was a talk they had about being together in the house and out of the house after tension in the house.

It's kind of sad.

He wants to be her hero and "throw himself on a grenade for her". He does not want to support her he wants to save her. Very 1950's. He actually seems like he might be a nice guy but he is definitely damaged.

They're all damaged.

People dont get cast if, through psych evals, they dont reveal some form of damage.

If the producers chose 16 well adjusted, calm, rational individuals, they'd call the show Big Boredom.

Not really. This season alone Matt, Christmas. Elena, Kevin, Jason and Ramsey all seem like well-adjusted individuals. Paul is obnoxious and quirky, but I would hardly consider him damaged.

They always throw in a few drama queens to make things interesting, but in most seasons (think Derek) the winners are cool and collected.

I do feel bad for Cody. He seems very self-aware but unable to change his basic nature.

I can't think of a worse outcome for the last show. Cody just can't catch a break! Why couldn't it have been a competition that required athleticism or endurance? No, it had to be a competition that is basically dumb luck -- which is the only way Josh could win anything!

I can't remember the last time I despised any BB contestant as much as I despise Josh.

And, of course, with Josh considering Paul his "Master" we're likely to just have another week of the 'Paul Show!' If only Cody could win the 'hex' competition and be safe and Jessica win the veto and be safe but the odds are against them, so more Paul running the house in coming weeks!!! :(:(:(

Ditto. I'm a stubborn defender of the simple pleasures of reality tv but Josh could be ExhibitA in a case proving that everything terrible anyone ever said about realitytv is sorta totally true.

Josh is hard to watch but there will probably be plenty of drama this week. Personally I'm rooting for Kevin, although he isn't winning any competitions.

The big thing I don't like about Kevin is that he confessed taking the $25,000 temptation the first day in the house only to Paul. Paul then used the misinformation that he spread (with Kevin's approval) that Ramses took the $25,000! Yes, it is a game of lies but the way Kevin made Ramses feel as though Kevin was mentoring the boy, when, in fact, his lie with Paul that Ramses was the first temptation winner, helped Paul convince the house to keep Josh and vote Ramses out! Kevin may be colorful with his stories related in that Boston accent but does he deserve to win? JMHO

He is hard to watch. The merciless taunting of Cody was so cowardly. Using the fact that there was no way Cody could touch him was such a bullying move from someone who is likely a complete wuss in real life. He'll get his though. And I'm quite sure he will be crying like a baby about it.

Kevin has survived a lot longer than I would have predicted, but even if he gets to the end, juries generally put a lot of weight on winning competitions and making big moves. He will have a hard case to make.

While despise is a strong word, I agree with the sentiment. I cant recall being exposed to anybody who irritates me more.

What well-adjusted adult bangs pans together, calls everyone meatballs, cries at the drop of a hat, and can only hum the circus song? Add in the paranoid delusions in early weeks......

And, while its a stretch.... when they show the other houseguests being entertained by Josh's childish and stupid antics, (and the tattooed banana-beard freak with ugly silver rings on every finger dancing along with Josh,) I cant help thinking that others' approval of base, stupid, inappropriate behavior by someone craving attention, exemplifies much of whats going on in our country today. I was grateful last night just to see they edited in Matt opining "this just isnt good for anyone."

If I could add a twist to Big Brother, it would be that once each season, men in white enter the house with huge butterfly nets, and haul the most deranged houseguest off to the mental institution.
