In the state of California it is a state felony to NOT disclose you have HIV or AIDS to anyone you are sleeping with. A lot of guys on here get mad when you say it, but that is the truth. The idea that YOU are responsible for your own health so they guy with HIV has no guilt he gave you AIDS, Please, that is a felony, Assault with a Deadly Weapon. You can go to 20 years in Jail.

There is a big difference between personal responsibility and legal culpability. A misunderstood and largely unenforceable law is not going to protect anyone from HIV. If you want to protect yourself, forget about the law and educate yourself on the science.

While @funguy already corrected @lainent's false assumptions about cold sores, let's expand a little since these issues apply to anyone who engages in unprotected anal sex and ass to mouth activity. There are other infectious agents that can cause cold sore-like symptoms.

Herpangina is a painful mouth infection typically caused by coxsackievirus or sometimes echovirus. These viruses can be found in GI tracts, which is why I mentioned ass to mouth activity. These viruses can be transmitted to the mouth by rimming or by sucking a cock that fucked ass without a condom. Fortunately, these infections are usually destroyed by the body in a week or two, but they can reoccur too.

Aphthous stomatitis is a pretty common condition where benign and noncontagious ulcers form in the mouth, on the tongue, and possibly lips. In the USA, a common term is "canker sore." They usually heal on their own in a week or two and reoccur for a variety of unknown reasons. Learn what they look like and know if you have them.

Stomatitis is an inflammatory condition of the mouth and lips with or without ulcerations. This is a general term that covers many specifics conditions that all fit within its definition.

Comparing HSV to HIV in the same class is irresponsible and downright misleading IMO. While we're at it, lets create a fake info site called "Herpes Kills Children" and spread it to all the local news agencies.

I don't believe that anyone was comparing the two directly in this thread. Perhaps confusing the two acronyms, but not comparing. I could be wrong, as the thread took an odd turn into STDs other than what the OP described.

I agree with you about singular personal responsibility, but I'm also all for being honest with yourself and not putting others at risk if you know there's an existing problem. You don't put a racehorse on the starting line when he's got a broken leg.

It has been a long, twisted (albeit interesting) thread, but I would refer you to post #30.

When it comes down to it, everyone is responsible for their own health. Being proactive about your health and having open & informative conversations is the best route. Shaming people and spreading misinformation is always the wrong route and can negatively impact one's health due to FUD.

Take it away Adam Conover..

Thank you Mr. Wolfe!

Hello,

I wanted to post this message based off of something that @Benjamin_Nicholas posted in another thread about a friend of his. Unfortunately, I cannot go into too much detail, but I wanted to share this with all of you here as a warning to be careful about who you hire.

The first thing you should do is go to your doctor and get vaccinated for all STIs. After you start hiring, get a full panel STI test regularly. It is up to YOU to protect your health. This person I spoke with had to learn the hard way that this industry is full of LIARS. There are tons of escorts who may have some infection, but don't tell you because they don't know themselves, don't want to risk their business being harmed, or are quite frankly to stupid to understand how these matters can impact people's lives.

To both clients AND escorts on this forum; if you have an STI, regardless of how big or small you perceive it to be, you need to be upfront with your partner about it before you have sex with them. Your partner has a right to know your status so he can make the decision if he wants to be with you or not. To not be upfront with them right from the beginning is dishonest and to me, it is straight-up lying. You have a right to know your partner's status before you have sex with them and if they do not want to be honest with you, then you should not be with that person in the first place.

II agree and therefore unless we have dull panel test results and know for a fact they have not been with anyone else since the test we need to assume unfortunately that they're lying because they very well could be. Sad but true.

Although the risk of contracting HIV is significantly lower when topping, it is by no means low-risk. I respect that each of us must choose the level of risk that we're comfortable with, but I think that sharing this kind of unsupported misinformation is a great disservice to our community.

I agree. Imagine a bottle full of water being squeezed under water. The water is pushed out but some of the outer water rushes back in. And, if the bottom is positive and detectable, then you run a greater risk of converting.

Oh lord. Such drama. Everyone is positive in my book. Only fools depend on honesty.

Before I met my partner, I played the field a lot. My screen name had emoji's in them. One man emoji and then a 'plus' sign, followed by another man emoji followed by an equal sign and a smiley face. It was supposed to indicate Man plus Man equals a smiley face. The plus was always misunderstood to be an HIV positive sign. And, you wouldn't believe how many guys with an HIV NEG profile confessed that they were really positive. About a third indicated they were positive after I volunteered that I was on Prep. WTF? Positive status doesn't bother me. But, the lying to others who are NEG and not on Prep did bother me. So, be the fuck careful out there. Don't believe anyone.

And this whole notion that having HIV is no big deal is BS. Sure SOME people live with it. BUT

you're unambiguously healthier without it. And there is more than one strain , and not every one reacts well to and/or can afford the various medications.

I agree! And, how many of our uninsured friends won't be able to obtain it because the AHA may finally fall to the self serving Republicans? Augh.`

Years ago, I received a call from the Travis County Health Dept ordering me to come into their offices and get tested for Syphilis. "WHAT?!?!" "One of your sex partners has contracted it and your sex partner gave us the names and numbers of all of his recent sexcapades." The health department likes to inform sex partners of the person infected with Syphilis so it doesn't get out of control in the area. How did the health department find out? All physicians must report certain STD cases to the county health department. That's how the health department gets involved. She called me late on Friday and waaaaaaaay to late for me to get into see my physician. But, the thing is...I had a very hot date with the hottest bottom in all of TX. And, this date was already reschedule once. I debated for a half second whether to pump him full of my cum (a four day load I had been saving), or, risk being labeled unclean and having not gotten the chance to pump him ever. I walked into his house with my overnight bag. He closed the door and I dropped my bag to the floor. I stood there and held him feeling his pretty little bubble ass in my hands. I looked him in the eyes and told him about the phone call. A week later, my physician informed me that I didn't have Syphilis. I didn't have to get the remaining very painful shots in my ass.

So, I totally identify with this picture.

I am going to pay better attention to BN's writings to see who has the clap!

Antibiotic-resistant strains of gonorrhea are on the rise, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

An estimated 78 million people contract gonorrhea each year, says WHO of the sexually transmitted infection (STI) that was once easily treated.

"The bacteria that cause gonorrhea are particularly smart," said WHO spokesperson Dr. Teodora Wi in a press release. "Every time we use a new class of antibiotics to treat the infection, the bacteria evolve to resist them."

WHO researchers, whose findings were published in two separate studies this month, discovered that first-line antibiotics were ineffective in 50 of the 77 countries they analyzed. Resistance is also increasing in second and third-line treatments, the researchers found. Three strains of the STI were found to be resistance to all antibiotics.
