To me it looks about 2-years old, and likely left it's mom earlier this season. That might explain the relative timidness and curiosity about the dog, as well as it's susceptibility to intimidation. I think the woman did everything correctly given the size of the sub-adult, but maybe not the wisest move to turn and run at the end of the video - that can trigger a chase response. + Charlie, wsc, + azdr0710 and 2 others 2 2 1
Luv2play Posted Saturday at 06:46 AM Posted Saturday at 06:46 AM Thinking about the title of this thread, grizzlies are anything but cute. And they certainly don’t take our minds off stressful situations. + Charlie 1

Nue2thegame Posted Saturday at 04:43 PM Posted Saturday at 04:43 PM The bear appeared to be a playful but impudent adolescent. I little older and hungrier one might not have been so easily deterred. I too, applaud the woman’s audacity. + Charlie 1

A grizzly can hit 35mph in a short sprint. Usain Bolt at his fastest reached 28mph, and he is light-years faster than I am. Thanks for the tip about triggering a chase response, because I know there is no way I’ll ever outrun a grizzly. wsc, thomas and + Charlie 1 2

That's why you always take a fat friend with you. You can outrun him, can't you? Luv2play, Nue2thegame, BSR and 3 others 1 5
