It's most definitely worth asking. I do think you need to be prepared for your request to be declined.

 

Here's a story to help explain why I think you're likely to get a no: I have a beard. It's short and well-groomed. I have it most of the time, though sometimes I have shaved it off and have maybe a little scruff. I have had men approach me and refuse to hire me with my beard and I have had other men insist that I have a beard for our meeting. I've been asked to grow it when I didn't have it and asked to shave it off when I did have it. It would be impossible for me to please everyone with regards to my facial hair, so I've got to make a choice. I like my beard. My boyfriend likes me more with a beard than without it. My clients seem to range from pleasantly indifferent on the matter to completely in love with my beard. It's rare that someone cites my beard as the reason they won't hire me, though it's probably because people who don't want beards don't even bother to contact me. At any rate, I choose having a beard now. Someone might ask me to shave off my beard for our session and they might think it's no big deal because it'll grow back but it's still 2-3 weeks before it grows back for me.

 

This reminds me of a recent thread on asking an escort to shave his pits. I didn't weigh in, but I would say the same thing I said above. You never know when someone might just be very happy to make a change for you. This has never come up for me, but I'm with @Eric Hassan in saying that I doubt he would do it on request. Since you note that he varies his appearance, you could contact him and ask what his current look is and decline if it is not what you prefer, but that would like to hire him next time he is. If he ever contacted you, you would need to be ready to jump straight away. Alternatively you could hire him as he is, and if you like him talk the fact that you would like to hire him again next time he is 'neat'. You may find that you like him regardless of how he looks on any given day (or that you don't either way).

glennn, to put things in perspective, I think you should consider how you would feel as the client if the escort asked YOU to make changes to your appearance. In some ways that request screams rejection, that theres something you dont like, and it put conditions on your hiring him. I suppose it would depend on the demeanor of the escort at the time you asked, but I think a better approach is to find an escort that you like "just the way he is"......

If his appearance is drastically different from his profile pics and he hasn't given notice of it, I think you wouldn't be unreasonable in backing out. Gio Volta changes his appearance often. Sometimes his chest is shaved, sometimes its hairy. Sometimes his hair is short and sometimes long. In his profile, he always reports what he looks like at the current time. I haven't hired him yet, but I sure want to.
