Update

  • Been texting with Greg over this weekend. He is sounding more and more like his old self...I'm so pleased!
  • There is fluid around his heart that the docs will treat with antibiotics. His lungs checked out ok. His immune system has taken a beating though. Fortunately his labs are coming back on the up&up.
  • He is thinking he may get out of the hospital tomorrow. He has been cooked up in that place for over a week and he is itching to get out to the beach before the weather begins to turn in Chi-town
  • @friendofsheila - I did ask about streaming movies but his hospital's wifi sucks. :mad: The good news is that once he gets out, he will try to work less and focus more on recovering.
  • As usual, I keep asking if he needs anything from us, and he only asks you guys keep him in mind and sending positive vibes his way.
  • He has been checking his email and PMs more frequently and appreciates the care demonstrated.

Sometimes, in my action-oriented attitude, I forget that emotional support is just as valuable as all else. Keep it coming!

When you are not feeling well, True, just having someone check in is sometimes all the difference between a great day and a terrible day. Thanks for helping make Seaboy's day a better one. You do yourself a disservice by saying you forget about emotional support. From my viewpoint, you offer that a lot more.

Thanks guys! The last few days I've felt a lot better. I hopefully get to go home tomorrow if things with the ticker look good. I did have a lil melt down the other day where I was kicking drs and nurses out of my room if they did not have answers and solutions lol. Hopefully if I get released tomorrow I can go back to the day job on Thurs before I start my next to last round of chemo.

I was in the hospital for an extended stay once.I was a royal bitch to the staff and loved ones.So unlike me,ha ha.Its the nature of the beast Greg.Sounds like your discharge is imminent.It will be wonderful to sleep in your own bed.

A couple months ago when I was in the hospital I was a total cunt but thats cause I had been kept up for almost 3 days and it was a training hospital. I wont make that mistake again. And if I have to go back to that facility I'll make it clear only the real drs and nurses are to be allowed in my room.

Greg, you're doing a great job of being proactive. Keep holding their feet to the fire and making sure you're getting the best care.

All my labs for today get gold stars. If my ultra sound comes back fine idealy I should go home today. One ass hat dr suggested I stay another night or two. Um NO BITCH! I've been here since the 27th of Aug! He suggested I stay another day or two to make sure my labs are real. Kicker is, I can give myself the pills and shot at home and have my onocology dr run the labs. By doing so, I am saving my insurance thousands! Nice try dr trying to milk my insurance. Aint happening.

I think being home is also a nice perk and incentive to feeling better. Plus Spanish Geltleman was meowing with my Gato the other day and he said he is missing his owner. ;) Can't wait to hear about your beach days again, Greg.

Plus being at home means I get home cooked foods and I get to eat after 630pm.

Hey, Seaboy, I see you've gone through some rough patches but your guts and spirit are going to see you through it. I haven't texted you in a while. Figured you were overwhelmed with well wishers' texts, so decided to post here. You know like everyone here, wishing you good, good positive thoughts.

Update: Heard from Greg tonight. He is finally home! I'm sure he will log on this week and report back.

 

This a great day - with both Greg & Rob back to their respective homes! :) Let's do the happy dance
