I met an escort who said he was bisexual, but when I asked if he had ever had sex with a lady, he said not yet. He was over 30 then.

At least the told you the truth, luck you!

I guess is the same reason why so many bottoms call themselves versatile or versatile/top... they want to brand themselves as more masculine.

I believe concern regarding the bisexual label has some other origins, outside of the escorting world.

Thinking back a few decades, when it was a little riskier for a man to openly declare he was gay... I recall hearing gay men express scorn for self-proclaimed bisexuality. It was an opinion that bisexual men were afraid to fully acknowledge being gay. They still liked pussy, they kept one foot rooted in the less deviant, socially acceptable world of "real men"

Thats probably not the case in younger men... but old opinions die hard, and it will likely take more time until older gay men dont react with a little skepticism regarding bisexuality.

Many boys in Prague are real bisexuals. They love to kiss men, suck dick, get fucked hard, and, after they do, they go out to dinner with their girlfriend du jour and maybe even fuck her. In my experience, they prefer to bottom with men and rarely top. They just love sex, that's it, no labels or guilt attached.

There's been no overlap in my sexual experiences with men and women (that is, I haven't pursued men and women at the same time), but that's not far from my situation. I dated and slept with women, married and had a great, satisfying sex life, and was a pretty good lover if I do say so myself. With men I only want to play the bottom role, and I love to kiss whomever I'm making love to, male or female.. I don't "like" one sexual contact more than the other although my leanings and attractions these days are more towards men. But if a woman sparked an interest in me I wouldn't hesitate to go for it. I have no idea how to label myself except as bisexual, and even if I end up in a relationship with a man it doesn't change the fact that I had good relationships with the women I've known, and that I had a happy marriage that I never thought of straying from.

Denial of labels?

This obsession with labels is odd. Human sexuality is much more complex than 2,3 or 10 labels.

using labels - top, bottom, vers, dom, sub, twink, bear etc. - denies the complexity of human sexuality?

I think it is controversial. The very concept of labeling consist of reducing reality to a few characteristics that supposedly define the object. We could argue whether labels are an expression of human sexuality richness or a simplifying reduction of reality. We could argue labels are a necessity to allow a dialogue about human sexuality. We could argue that labels empower the multiplication of subcultures and the explosion of diversity.

However, in the specific context of this conversation, my answer to your question is absolutely YES. We are asking people to conform to a few predetermined labels. We are questioning people's honesty when they do not give us the answer we deem appropriate. We are closing the possibility to question our own choices by holding to a comfortable category. Yes.

Is it really that complicated in the context of escorting? I don't care to plumb the depths of someone's psyche. I don't care if it accurately represents the fluidity that they may have experienced over the course of a lifetime. I just want to know how they are marketing themselves right now. I will infer certain things based on the marketing category they choose, and I will make hiring decisions based on it, but l really don't think it's all that complicated.

EDIT: Funny story. A young escort that I know originally advertised as bisexual as a marketing thing -- until he was actually contacted by a female. After some very uncomfortable messaging with this lady, he changed his orientation to gay. :)

That's just delusional. The most common answer I get from self-described bi guys is not since school, so basically their adult sex life is gay gay gay.

There is little doubt the bisexual label has been abused by many guys. There is a line in Torch Song Trilogy that sums up the attitude of a lot of gay guys I've talked to: “Just once I’d like to see a bi-sexual that lives with a man and sneaks out to see his girlfriend on the side.”

I do believe bisexual people exist, but practicing bisexuals seem to be very rare.

Funny story aside, that wasn't actually the point I was trying to make. I'm not actually a "bisexual denier." :) People know themselves and get to identify however they feel comfortable.

In the context of escorting, if a guy is able to provide service to both sexes, it makes sense that he advertises as bisexual regardless of who he falls in love with. It's the straight identification that confuses me a bit. If they can provide a good service to men, it just seems like the smart marketing thing to do is identify as bisexual. But hey, it's their business and they'll do what works best for them.

Personally speaking, My profile is listed Bisexual. Although it's been a little over a year since I've slept with a female I'm still highly attracted to them and would do so again if the opportunity presented itself. I slept with women only up until about 4 years ago. I do however believe that it is something that pulls some clients in considering our society is so label based and the Masc for Masc is a thing.

Never considered bisexuality, never had sex with a woman, would never entertain the idea of a female client. I also never bottom. But only because being the dom top feels more natural to me... totally gay, totally top, but do love a talented tongue between my cheeks. :p

I don't rim and don't receive rimming often, so I may be wrong here. But have you encountered many untalented tongues between your cheeks?

Someone told me an unofficial statistic has the LGBT community as making up over 70% of providers

So I would imagine a good amount of guys -are- bisexual and are in the business

(Personally I identify as queer ;) )

Can we stop talking about vaj**J** please? I am gay and the very thought of anything related to va***a totally grosses me out. Thank you.

I am gay as they come but I love watching straight porn. Usually muted though because I hate whining moaning women. Vagina does not gross me out I just wont ever fuck one.

What about whining or moaning bothers you?

It is the high pitch and the fact that they tend to out volume the top. And sometimes it just seems like they are faking it which makes the noise even more annoying.
