It is very difficult to find a well built escort or masseur that does not have a significant portion of his body covered with tats. What is the genesis of this and when will this trend be over? A few tats are ok, but now I see more and more men "covered" with tats.

I have a similar curiosity relative to masculine guys who shave off their pubic hair.

Pubic hair is natural. To see men shaved smooth of pubic hair reminds me of a featherless and plucked chicken hanging for sale in a butcher shop.

I wonder how many escorts loose clients because of the shaved pubic hair phenomenon.http://cache4.asset-cache.net/gc/141858813-chicken-carcasses-hanging-in-butchers-shop-gettyimages.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=DrwK6XTlDoybHnBcCvAfovg%2BcR28IGvC9cyWeGyp4hSROMeGBrGCEtSn8MBp4pzFWkqcKS8zsK4YF4IqmIeOmA%3D%3D

I don't mind tattoo's at all. I see them as art and I am always interested in the meaning behind each one.

I also don't mind the shaved hair but prefer just trimmed. Not a fan of the ballfro though.

I don't know but I'm sure some of them are already regretting getting tattoos when they were younger, fortunately for me I'm able to see beauty on a guy despite the tattoos.... yet I keep wondering why the "thuggish" look? If you can, just go preppy.

In traditional South Pacific culture tattoos are and have been for centuries an art form. That is not true in Western European culture. They were once almost the exclusive property of navy sailors. They may look great for a number of years after acquiring them but eventually they will become a faded blur. Ask me how I know that and the answer is easy. Forty years ago, on my thirty-fifth birthday, I got a scorpion tattoo on my back right shoulder. Have I ever regretted it -- absolutely not. But believe me it is now a barely recognizable blue blur. I am willing to bet that, the vast majority of, the people who are heavily tattooed today will, in twenty, thirty, or forty years, rue the day the got them. Unfortunately I won't live long enough to tell them "I told you so".

As far as shaved pubes are concerned; for me it depends on the guy. I was once into serious bodybuilding and thus became accustomed to body shaving. If the guy is built like a brick shit house I'm all for it. If the guy isn't all that well built then I, at the least, prefer some serious trimming.

Damn BabyBoomer you are absolutely correct. I'm old enough without trying to make myself even older. It's bad enough being 75 I'm relatively sure it isn't going to be better at 80

For the most part I dislike tattoos. Two hires I've seen in the past have gone from something on their arms, to out of control designs across their chests. Bye-bye. It's their body, their choice, but it's also mine to take my business elsewhere. One keeps asking when he's going to see him again, but how do you tell someone you don't like his newest tattoo?

Sorry, @Mo Mason, I am with Lord @dcguy20 on this one. I profoundly dislike tattoos. Nevertheless, I can sometimes overlook a discreet one on a hot guy, but extensive tats are a total deal breaker for me, no matter how gorgeous the guy is.

I hate tattoos, and I'm not going to apologize to anyone for my feeling about them. Sometimes I can overlook a small tattoo or two on the arm, but I detest them on the torso, legs and neck. When I see how some of these otherwise beautiful guys have ruined their bodies by subscribing to this herd-mentality fad I could weep, I'm serious. I followed the herd when I was in my twenties in the early 1970's, too---our thing was long hair back then. When you wanted to leave that fad behind you got a hair-cut.

I live in a neighborhood with lots of hipsters and the number of men and women covered with tattoos is astounding. When I pass them all I can see is walking future or even present regret and remorse. One guy I saw yesterday had his arms so heavily tattooed that his arms were a solid navy blue. I don't know how much more of his body was covered in this sickly color. Tattoos look like a skin disease eventually, no matter how artistically executed they are at the time they are done.

Tattoos have very often swayed my decision as to whether to hire an escort. When I meet an escort who has no tattoos I make it a point to congratulate him on his decision and ask him to promise me he will never fall for what is now, anyway, yesterday's insanity du jour. What was yesterday's 'de rigueur' is now today's 'passé' and those who fell for it are imprisoned for life.

I hope part of the next generation's rebellion against their parents' generation will be a rejection of this practice for themselves.

I'd venture to say that one statement that has never been uttered is, "My one regret in life is that I never got a tattoo."

There is some hope...tattoo removal is a business that's flourishing. What's even more annoying is all these idiots that think they look good with a beard. Some guys can pull it off, but most of them look like they are trying too hard.

Not a fan of tattoos, but have on more than one occasion hired an escort who has a couple of tats. Definitely am turned off by anyone covered with tats and particularly those sporting an array of tats that are unrelated to one another.

I believe you say" You are a great guy but your tattoos have gotten to the point that I find you a lot less sexy.

Do you want to rethink that statement?

And I thought I was the oldest... ;)

Tattoos are part of the complete package (the guy). You either like him of hate him. If you like him, good. If you don't walk away and keep your mouth shut. In this country we still have our freedom of choice. You have the freedom of liking them or not liking them.

I'm generally not crazy about lots of tats and have passed over heavily inked guys who I would otherwise have hired.

That said, I have seen photos in The Gallery of guys with very nicely done tribal tats that respect the contours of their body and compliment it rather than clash with it.

(I'm not sure how I would feel about looking up between my ankles resting on someone's shoulders at a life-size face of Jesus inked on his chest staring back at me. Liberace? Maybe. But not the Messiah.)

I can't think of one guy who I can honestly say that there was no way in hell I would have slept with you if it hadn't been for that amazing tattoo. I guess that puts me in the neutral camp, but I think less is more in most instances.

All that said, its their body- and they can do with it what they choose, kind of similar to a choice in hair style, clothing, or accessory (just slightly more permanent).

Ok-- but no way I'm doing anything in public with that guy with a big penis tattooed on himself.
