I do. So I know what to expect when I meet you and kiss it and make it all better.

But others may have less tolerance for such pictures.

That pressure is swelling in the hand. Hope you are keeping the hand rested and elevated above the elbow to hold the swelling down. Feel better

The pain is bouncing back and fourth. They keep getting uglier and uglier. I'm trying to keep my ROM (range of motion) high, so I keep bending my hands and fingers. Its a real fucking bitch. It hurts, but the thing that freaks me out, is the resistance my hands feel when bending. It's such a uncomfortable pressure.

When something is constantly nagging you like this, it can seem endless and very bleak. Right now is the period of maximum difficulty. You are young and strong, and you will begin to see improvement sooner than you think. I once had a third-degree burn to my right hand (nothing the scope of your burns). I was quite surprised by the healing, especially at my age. It is very likely that the disfigurement to your hand(s) will be much more noticeable to you than others.

Keep on keeping on and, of course, keep your doctor in the loop.

You are in the thoughts of us all. :)

I'm I'm pain--yes.

But I cant feel the blisters or exposed skin area. I feel it stretching the skin around the burns. That's the Worst pain.

The finger burn is my left hand. Small burns on left ring finger that suck.

Had small minor burns on left palm, all healed now. Can faintly see. The right hand is just-- fucked. For awhile. A long while.

On the scale of things, Brian, as a physician I have seen much worse with terrific outcomes.

You will eventually be in good shape if you follow directions like you are doing and be sure to continue to open and close the hand and move fingers to preserve movement.

When the surface wounds are healed and your doc ok's it, coconut oil is a terrific emollient to soften and moisturize the skin. It's cheap (same stuff you eat or cook with) and you'll smell like you are in Hawaii after you put it on. It's only drawback is that the smell goes away quickly!

Damn Brian..Ok that was a little shocking, and yes you warned us. And whatever you do, get yourself to Vegas so that Daddy can take care of you... only kidding, but wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery. God bless you.

Funguy is definitely one of the posters that I highly respect on this forum and that he seems to be predicting a good prognosis makes me quite happy for you.

While I worked in health care (I am not an MD though Funguy and a few others have referenced me as a BAD MD) I expected the pics to look much worse. So with any luck you are on your way to a great recovery!

As an aside, Funguy seems to be having a love affair with Hawaii. As such I'm surprised that he has not told you to eat plenty of pineapple as well.

My po' BriBri........ :(

But you are one TOUGH bleeper-bleeper (even Mizz T can censor herself when need be) and you will rise like a phoenix!

@funguy yes! I will do that, as @whipped guy said, I like this Hawaii bit-- little mental vacation on a rough day. Im laying low watching From Dusk Til Dawn the TV series. So damn good.

@bigvalboy thanks for the note, Vegas sounds good too. Once I'm in back to two hands and ten fingers I'm off to play roulette!! I'll play my burn days as they'll probably pay off in this backwards ass world.

WG is right - I do love Hawaii and it's pineapples.

Yes, you should be eating lots of pineapple - fresh, juice, etc. so that when you are able to cum see me I will have a feast when I devour you.

Oh - I have this pictured in my mind so you better hurry up.

Keep our Palm Springs plans in mind to help you make it through the next difficult months. Follow all the great advice our brothers and sisters have given you. DONT BE SO DAMNED INDEPENDENT. We care about you and worry. I'm saving up lots of hugs for when we meet in PS in April. (I'll have to stand on a box to deliver them properly) Wish I could do more. Can't wait to meet you. XOXO

Hey Brian,

Your choice wasn't "wrong", you were being considerate. Support from the forum members may take many forms from sympathy to advice to encouragement. For the immediate future, I'm pretty sure a number of members will appreciate updates to see how your progressing.

The photos are pretty intense. But, as funguy said, not as bad as some burn victims who recover well. That said, it looks like they hurt like a bitch.

As the saying goes, slow and steady wins the race.

Take care,

Kevin when I was 21 and applying for post graduate training, I drove my car up an embankment and then it rolled down, 1.5 revolutions nd landed on the roof. Fortunately, I was not wearing my seatbelt, as the roof was pushed down into the driver's seat and would have crushed me. As it was, I was thrown to the back and wedged between the front seat and back seat. I wound up with bad friction burns over my left hand and left arm with glass embedded in some nasty abraded wounds and exposed muscle. I was told by my doctors that it was likely that I would never move the hand normally. I became so distressed by this, that I stopped my applications and started to make other life plans. Well, eight weeks later, after some intense therapy, the hand was healed. It was scarred but healed and in short order it was moving normally. I wound up missing the application deadlines and I had to wait for a full year to reapply. Now, many years later, I am the only one who notices the scars.

Do not get too down. Do what you need to do to get well. Do not overdo the pain medications. This too shall pass. Do not let it derail you life plans, even temporarily.

Take whatever pain meds you need. A few years ago I shattered my right humerus into pieces. After surgery, I took narcotics for several months during my recovery. Once I healed, I stopped them within 2 weeks, and haven't needed them since.
