If You Had Won Powerball tonight, would you stop escorting?

I was VERY hypothetically sharing with a client what I would do if I won the lottery. He said "well, I know I would never hear from you again". It made me consider the question of whether I would continue doing my work if I had all the money I could ever need. I honestly think that I would, because even if I had plenty of money, my life still needs purpose and this is what I love to do. Maybe I would retire earlier, but I certainly wouldn't stop immediately.

So, what about you?

Not an escort, but I enjoy what I do - I just don't enjoy the franticness and lack of organization around it that always seems to flow downhill to me. If it were possible to continue doing my job but with, say, 20% less craziness, I might stay.

On the other hand, I might just volunteer at the library, or go back to school to get a degree for that. There are a lot of things I do as hobbies that I realized don't equate to supporting myself.

I can tell you that I'd stop buying...that's a no brainer. :D

Sorry to be dense, but I'm not sure I get that. Why would stop buying? Most people say they wish they were rich enough to afford any escort they wanted, all over the world, whenever they wanted, money no object.

Yeah, I didn't understand that comment either. Thanks for asking, curious to hear his explanation.

My understanding from reading the actual stories of past winners is you are forced into retirement even if that isn't your plan or intention. All semblance of a normal life ends. Every single "relative" and "crackpot" (terms not mutually exclusive) come out of the woodwork to make sure of this. A few were able to carry on normal for a few weeks but that was about it. With that kind of money, no way, your life would change instantly.

I would not continue doing what I was doing, but I would not stop doing anything. I would likely start a foundation or become very active in an existing foundation that did things important to me. But the odds are greater that we will be struck by a plane falling from the sky, so. don't worry about this one issue too much!

Gentlemen...I thought the answer would be obvious. At a billion dollars, why would I hire? I'm sure that with that kind of money I would find the love of my life...

SEE ADAM SMITH'S POST BELOW...;)

So, you are saying that if you were rich someone would want to marry you, for your money. Well, then technically you are still "paying for it".

Oh sure, IF you want to get technical about it, but it would be love, so I wouldn't look at it as if I was paying...;)

I would go into full on Sugar Daddy mode. Probably more than one so they could have every other weekend off. Of course, my Sugar "Babies" would be scruffy muscle studs, but they would still be my boys. :)

I know a man who won the lottery for 19 million. He claims it did not dramatically change his life. He was upper middle class to start and he had a successful construction company, mostly electric work. He said that he took the option to get $19 million spread over 20 years. that gave him about $980,000 a year before taxes. After taxes and putting aside for retirement etc, he had about 150,000 for other things. A nice chunk of change but not necessarily life altering. He was still working, but not doing the manual labor any longer. He was of an age that he was going to be slowing down in the physical aspects of the job anyway.

Still, 3000 dollars a week every week for 20 years seems a tidy sum for incidentals.

If, as a client, I had won Powerball, there would have been a significant increase in the income and travel opportunities for a number of quality escorts!

If, as a client, I ever win Powerball, there will be a significant increase in the number of guys facing the opportunity to become escorts.

Sometimes it's nice to fantasize about winning, but in reality, a win that large would suddenly make me feel very paranoid. Not sure that anonymity would help.

People who suddenly find themselves with large net worths often suspect that people want something from them or are outright trying to cheat them. In many cases, they are right.

An acquaintance worth ~$10 million age 29 (given him by daddy who is worth $250 million+) said Yeah, I hang around boring rich people because they're the ones I know aren't after my money.
