Since coffee is part of many of our lives, thought I'd start a post about what type of coffee you drink.....a light topic for the holidays.

I've been drinking a variation of Bulletproof coffee for quite awhile. Recipe in a nut shell..........brew coffee, 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter ( stores sell a brand of Irish butter that's really pure if you want), tablespoon of MCT oil, tablespoon of coconut oil, and for the holidays I'm adding a teaspoon of dark unsweetened chocolate. Put all in a blender for a few seconds and it's delicious. Great way to start the day each morning. I put about 2 big mugs full

of coffee in blender with each batch.

I know to some it sounds like a heart attack in the making, but actually not.

With choclate, milk and over ice ! If its cold I like espresso so I usually just do a latte. After 3 cups (three actual cup measurements of coffee) caffeine has no affect on the body, as your body has processed its limit. Like Vitim C you're gonna piss that shit out! What ever works though :)

always black....learned that from my parents.....currently using Trader Joe's Wake-Up Blend beans....couple or three cups in the morning and an occasional skinny latte in the afternoon

funny story: a college roommate's Dad came over to visit for the weekend and he took the two of us out to Sunday brunch at a nice place.....the Dad was a fairly tough dude and had played for the 49ers for a season or two....we all ordered coffee and my roommate, the son, started pouring sugar and cream in his cup of coffee....his Dad shot him a look and, paraphrasing here (!), suggested that no son of his would ever drink coffee with cream and sugar.....

by the way, the news stories keep coming on about the benefits of drinking coffee.....

EDIT: has anybody from the NY/northeastern areas of the country heard the term "regular", pronounced "raygalur", for ordering coffee?.....I think it means that cream and sugar are wanted in the cup??.....

In bed, served by anyone. No special coffee. Milk and one sweetener. That is how I like it.

How I get it: On the run at the office, I make a K cup of whatever coffee they have, put whatever they have in the refrigerator in it, take one sip of hot coffee, put it down, come back after seeing a patient and one warm sip. Followed by patient, luke warm sip, patient , cold sip, many patients, ice cold taste and then pour in the toilet. Repeat as needed.

At any roach coach in Manhattan, "cuoffee rehgulah" will get you coffee with milk and sugar. It was a culture shock when I first moved there. I soon learned that if I wanted BLACK COFFEE (and I did/do) then I'd need to order it exactly that way or I'd get cuoffee rehgulah.

I do not pollute good (or even bad) coffee.

In Boston & surrounds, a reguhlah means loaded down with so much cream and sugar that it is almost coffee cake.

Black....like my men.

Ditto. ;)

For a time I tried emulating Beethoven who would count out exactly 50 beans for his morning cup of coffee but I failed to compose even one masterwork in consequence. (Movements certainly resulted though. )

I drink my coffee black. Lately, it has been two lungo-sized Nespresso shots made with Rosabaya or Indria. When I use coffee beans, it is Jose's Columbian from Costco or whatever is in season at Intelligentsia.

My step-father was a coffee salesman to fine restaurants. We were expected to drink our coffee black. I can remember him saying, "if you have to add anything to it to drink it, it isn't very good." That said, he did permit a coffee for dessert with a shot of Bailey's or Frangelic0.

I drink mine black. Usually it is a french roast, but sometimes hazelnut.

When I was very young, somewhere in my 20's, I came into the kitchen one morning and proceeded to construct a cup of coffee. Not too hot mind you, two cubes of ice to cool it down, luke warm really, with lots of sugar and cream, almost the color of milk. I sat down to enjoy the morning joe, and my uncle was standing there looking at me. He starred down at my cup of coffee and said "What the Hell is that"..."Coffee" I said. He said, "That young man is not coffee, that's a cup of crap, if you can't drink it black, put it back, and save it for those that can"...I just remember him walking away shaking his head.

Well, a glug of Bailey's, Frangelico, Brandy, Amaretto or whatever tipple you're in the mood for makes a cocktail. That's acceptable.

Some of this country's finest cocktails, such as the screwdriver or fuzzy navel, were invented during prohibition because they needed additives to mask the vile flavor of bathtub gin. If it can help bad gin, it can help bad coffee too.

My grandmother had a similar reaction when my aunt (her daughter) tried to give me coffee with a ton of milk and sugar.

we once ordered coffee at breakfast at a hotel coffee shop across the street from BYU in Provo.....be damned if it didn't take about 15-20 minutes to get it

Now, there is a Starbucks on University AV and it's always full.
