Annual Forum Event In DC - Is There Going To Be One For 2016??

Hi Everyone,

 

Will there be possibly a future Forum gathering in Washington, DC for 2016?

 

It's traditionally held towards the middle or end of January each year.

 

Haven't heard any news on an occasion happening again for 2016, so that says there may not be one next year since they're haven't been no announcements of any sort regarding a possible get together in DC.

 

Legendary Dave did a wonderful job hosting the Forum event in DC this year, so was curious either he's hosting the DC Event again next year or is someone else doing the honors of carrying on the torch to keep our Annual DC Event alive and going.

I would be sad if it didn't happen, but times change. The event has traditionally been held on Martin Luther King's birthday holiday in conjunction with MAL. Dave did a good job last year and the event was a success. What is needed is:

 

1. Sufficient interest in this community to attend.

2. Someone local to DC who would be willing to do the leg work of booking a restaurant for the event.

 

So, first things first, who among us will commit to attend the event?

 

I would be there.

I am a local escort in DC and I would love to host the event. Last year was the first time I attended and I would also be sad to see it not happen again.

 

Dave and I used to organize escort socials in DC for the last year or so before he moved so I am very familiar with the local community and the leg work that would go into it.

I remember meeting you and Countrywny along with Brandan Steele at the event last year as it was my first time attending too, and had a BLAST. Met a lot of people for the first time there actually both escorts and clients. Was my VERY first forum event.

 

Question - Where exactly did Dave move to? I thought I heard he did move, but just didn't know where.

 

Should we say to count on there being a DC event this year? Would you need any help in organizing it? Maybe some of us can pitch in and help....

I would attend. Jan would be perfect as I'll just be getting back from touring and will be in the mid west (ohio!) But I LOVE DC! My favorite restaurant there is Mexican. I won't suggest the restaurant because I'm sure someone will end up bottoming and blame me ! I'll just eat with you guy then skip on over to the restaurant.

 

P:S: I would hope who ever is hosting this event has it in a good area, the first time I went to DC I made too many turns and ended up in a rough neighborhood, I was happy to arrive in the gayberhood of dupoint circle (however you spell it)

If we keep with past DC luncheons, the event is held either on the Saturday or Sunday of MLK weekend. So, that would be January 16 or 17, 2016. The Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend will also be going on and it's a nice fit. The luncheon was the brain child of my friend, LeighBessToad, who thought that getting clients and escorts together in a purely social setting would be a nice thing. I agreed with him and he ran with it. Over the years of the event, I have met many great people, other clients and escorts alike. It's a good opportunity to network and the chance to mingle with like-minded others is priceless. The luncheon is the main event, but other get-togethers like a visit to Secrets (DC's male strip bar), a dinner event and other things can keep you busy.

Thank you so much for volunteering, Evan! Last year was my first year there too; we didn't get to speak for long, so I don't know if you remember me by my forum name, but I'm the woman who was there and is not only part of the forum but part of the hiring community. I think some people had some (hopefully temporary) difficulty wrapping their heads around that.

 

Now that I know there will definitely be a forum event in DC, I plan on attending. It's much easier to get to and less costly in terms of time and expense than, say, the Palm Spring shindig.

While the luncheon has been held at different locations in the past, they have always been in the Dupont Circle neighborhood.

 

When would the gathering take place , i.e. what are the dates?

 

The weekend coincides with MAL (Mid-Atlantic Leather), which runs from the Friday through Sunday immediately preceding the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Typically forum people meet up for drinks Friday night at the Eagle (part of the leather bar circuit; they'd just relocated last year and weren't open yet, so we met at the bar at the Hyatt Regency hosting MAL), arrange to have dinner together and go to the strip club Secrets (full nudity but no lap dances; there is also a drag performance going on elsewhere in the building) on Saturday night, and socialize after the lunch, the centerpiece of the weekend, which starts around noon on Sunday.

 

This year, those dates are January 15 (Friday), 16 (Saturday), and 17 (Sunday, the day of the luncheon). I hope that helps.

 

Where exactly did Dave move to? I thought I heard he did move, but just didn't know where.

 

Bali, Indonesia, where he's in the process of exploring a new business venture. He sold his house but kept his apartment; he'll be coming back to the States periodically to see clients. Since he has or is going to take down his ads, this may mean he's only seeing existing clients. His schedule has him returning from Asia on Thanksgiving and traveling around the U.S. (including stints in DC, among other places) until he goes back to Asia late in January, but he won't be in DC for the forum luncheon. He leaves for Palm Springs on the 16th and travels to Asia from there on the 26th.

If there is to be an affair, I would like to attend. Last year was a lot of fun and I got to spend some time with some new friends. Would love to see DC once again from the inside of hotel room with a hot man by my side.

 

The pleasure of making your acquaintance was a highlight for me, PK! :)
