My avatar is more about my on-line name and has absolutely nothing to do with the "real" me. I'm really an old, bald, senior citizen that no one would find attractive.

We're living in a world turned upside down ... clients are casting off anonymity and showing their faces, whereas Chris W, who used to show his, is now a grumpy puss. Go figure.

Not exactly "my" Plantation House...lol...but one of my favorite spots in all of Orleans. Oak Alley is absolutely captivating once you see it.

 

Now I just noticed that BVB changed his avatar... I guess he was way too modest about showing us his plantation estate... and now has a somewhat late model vehicle... as in circa 1920... as his icon.

 

Interestingly, a while back BVB and I had a discussion about our respective modes of transportation as I drive a late model vehicle as well... However, I had no clue that his late model vehicle was potentially a collectors item. Well that's if the avatar is indeed a depiction of his actual vehicle. He also said that it was getting difficult to find parts and now I can understand why.

 

I also realize why he said that it would be quite a hardship to make it out of the city limits much less into the next county... or even worse to the other side of the state. I guess that's why all those hot escorts have to travel to him... and why he used that as an excuse not to pay a visit to my neck of the woods when I offered to introduce him to the world of... well no prize for guessing what.

 

At first I thought that it was a lame excuse... and that he was chickening out... and that perplexed me because a certain mutual acquaintance had told me that he was quite the guy. However, now I can totally understand and appreciate why... Though in retrospect I probably should not have suggested "Hertz" as an alternate mode of transportation.

 

So just curious... BVB... as to the year, make, and model... :D

 

All I can say is that they certainly don't come off the assembly line like that nowadays. Take care of that baby and treasure. it... Plus, my offer still stands for when I am again in your neck of the woods! ;)

Actually the picture has been in my 'picture file' for sometime now. It was a download from Flicker. The caption said that it was taken in Key West, which is the reason I thought that it was such a cool picture. So no specific info as to year and model, other than to say that it is a Ford, and my guess is a 30's era Model A, and if I was lucky enough to own her, she would never make it across "The Alley"..:D

 

AND...everything that was said in our previous discussion regarding the 'family truckster' and her ability to cross the 'Glades' is still and sadly true. She has long since been retired from such excursions. The only place you will see her is in the parking lot at 'Publix' ;)

 

I know this has been promised before, but one of these ol days, you just never know, when you least expect it, I might show up with bags in hand.

True, but there are other things they reveal. For instance, I think BVB's new avatar is meant to tell us that he is part of that over-35 crowd much-praised in recent Forum discussion.
