One of the things I like best about the new Forum format is the greater prominence of the avatars. This seems to have encouraged more people to choose one. I'm just curious about CLIENT-members of the Forum who are using headless body shots (like Jakeleyman, Prime Muscle and Whipped Guy) or body shots with a face in shadow (like loverboy95) or -- especially--those who are using full-on face shots (like Robster and DutchMuch). To those guys and others doing the same thing, if you don't mind saying, are those avatars really you?

Yup, it's me. I'd been using a picture of one of our cats as an avatar for quite a while (LOL) but with the new forum, and with the PS escort weekend coming up soon, I decided to use a picture of me instead. :)

No no no, although there is a character in my favorite anime/manga for whom a raven is a familiar or a symbol. But for a short time before the new software got rid of them, I had a profile pic of Kanzeon Bosatsu of the same anime/manga series (aka Guan Yin and Kwannon/Kannon, a Buddhist bodhisattva and Goddess of Mercy and Compassion), who is intersexed/hermaphroditic. You can probably figure out why that matters to me. I would sorta kinda look like her if my hair were longer and I ditched the glasses.

 

Here's what the profile pic looked like:

The character has male and female genitals, female breasts, so both genders/sexes. Se is a minor deity, if you want to put it that way, within Buddhism. Bodhisattvas are those who attain enlightenment but postpone nirvana in order to help guide others, although in the manga/anime se's kind of a bitch and likes to torment the main characters.

 

As a friend's avatar of hir says, "You want difficult? I can show you difficult!" (In retrospect, that might have been a better choice.)

 

A different avatar of hir is my default userpic on LiveJournal, Dreamwidth, and another website I frequent dedicated to Japanese cinema.

I think I understand your explanation, Captain. So, perhaps you’ve thought about and have answers to a few of my burning questions:

 

If the apes were so advanced in Planet of the Apes, why did they only have horses as their mode of transportation?

 

Why are clothes in the future, as depicted in movies and tv, so ugly?

 

Is Todd’s wife really on vacation, or is she buried in the backyard?

 

Why are straight guys turned on by fake plastic boobs?

 

Do any buildings actually have airconditioning ducts that are large enough and strong enough for a person to crawl through?

 

Does Wilma Flintstone’s kitchen have granite countertops?

 

Other than calls to and from the front desk does anyone use the phone in their hotel room?

 

Do you think God ever smoked a doobie?

 

If you’re going to kill a zombie, should you wait until he’s fully become a zombie or is it ok to kill him while he’s turning into one?

 

If everyone practiced nudity, how would we identify escaped convicts?
