ditto. Bangkok. I thought I was going to faint while checking in at the Sheraton Orcade Hotel, the male (kid) at the Registration desk was sooooooo wonderful. His brown eyes, lightening smile with pure white teeth. When he said, "Welcome . . . . " I took it personally.

Yes, 10cc, they win for their wonderful attitude about being with you for sex, they are langie , without being too tall or too short, they have satin velvet skin all the way up to their balls sacs and further, they are the most attractive males in the world for physic, demenour, and ability to sustain excitement.

Plus, New York City has been good to me with the help of Campus to keep a lot of really nice guys knocking on my door.;-)

"...if you had one city that you could visit, what would that be, and why?"

What a choice, what a dilemma! How can one pick just one city? There are so many cities with their lovely men to discover. The best I can offer is a top ten list, cities that Miss Trix wants to do (and I do mean DO!)

Cairo

Cape Town

Kyoto

Samarkand

Tblisi

La Paz

Delhi

Jerusalem

Bangkok

Havana

For a big contingent of M4Mers, the answer obviously is RIO!!!

With smaller, but enthusiastic, supporters of São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador, etc. . .

And, while not as "wild" as Rio, there's a pretty big contingent that also loves Buenos Aires!

There's also Madrid and Barcelona, which to my mind come the closest in Europe to the wonders of Eastern South America. Of course, both of those cities also offer cultural riches that are difficult to equal anywhere. So, there are lots of places! I think La Trix's list is pretty intriguing, too!

G'day!

I know that Trixie and Tri have a lot of cred on this site, but unfortunately they lost it in my opinion. Neither mentioned a city in Oceania. Please explain. Do the two of you have no interst in, let's say, Sydney. I reckon that if you want to be taken seriously, you would have put Sydney somewhere before some of the cities either of you mentioned. Shame. And Happy New Year.

All good choices from others, my top three would be Sydney, Berlin and Rio. Rio is in third place, only because of my problems with the language. Despit much effort, I just can not come close to mastering the language. Most Berliners speak English. I have spent three weeks in each of the above cities and enjoy most really getting to know the people in each city. So my dream city has in include the possibility of talking to just about everyone I meet. For sex and sex alone, Rio is number one.

>Just for fun, I'm interested if you had one city you could

>visit what would that be and why?

Well I have to admit that I haven't been to many of the cities that others have mentioned... so I am speaking from a rather limited experience. But I will point out that the limited experience is deliberate. I have found very little reason to STOP going to Montreal and spend my recreational time elsewhere. My ten reasons why:

1) Great food, great culture, wonderful city.

2) Gay friendly, American friendly

3) Reasonably safe, reasonably clean

4) Best strip clubs in North America

5) Plenty of escort opportunities, though not on the internet

6) Even if you just LOOK, the French-Canadian boys just walking down the street take your breath away.

7) Always has SOME kind of special event going on.

8) Though there was a time when the US $ was stronger, the exchange rate is still favorable, and makes recreation a bargain.

9) Feels like Europe, with a much shorter plane ride

10) Damien and Roberto are there (and I gotta meet this Simon guy).

>OK, I'll bite...what's so great about Samarkand, Tbilisi,

>Cairo, and Jerusalem?

I bring this up since Cairo was mentioned a few times. I'm curious to know if any visitors to Cairo have had this experience?

Several years ago I was travelling through Egypt with a friend. In Cairo we stayed at the Marriott. The center piece of this hotel is a palace built by Khedive Isma'il in 1869 as a place for the Empress Eugenie to stay when she came for the opening of the Suez Canal. It's an elegant fanatasy of a building with restaurants and various formal rooms and there are beautiful gardens outside. The rooms are in two modern wings. Going to dinner one night in one of the hotel dining rooms I noticed all these beautiful young Egyptian men, all elegantly dressed sitting around. They looked as though they'd just stepped off the runway of a Paris fashion show.

During dinner I said to my friend " I wonder who all those gorgeous guys are?". He said "prostitutes". I refused to believe him. After dinner we walked passed a group of them, glanced in their direction and headed out for a moonlight stroll in the garden. In seconds we were followed outside by 2 of the guys who produced cigarettes and asked us for a light. To this day I regret all we did was light their cigarettes and nothing more. So if anyone is planning a trip to Cairo, please check out the Marriott and report back. If you've been recently and had a similar experience let us know. I also have to say the hotel must have known what was going on and certainly didn't seem to object.

Far and away, my favorite city is New York. However, I was rarely there this year, opting instead for life in (listed in order of preference)

Amsterdam, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong, and London.

On my hitlist for 2004:

San Francisco, Amsterdam, Bratislava, Sydney and Hong Kong.

I agree that the people of Bangkok are wonderful in so many ways and I may return in the winter 2004. Bangkok's summer heat is too oppressive for my tastes.

After my recent birthday trip to RIO, i would certainly have to include it on any list of favorites.

Of the other cities I have visited after coming out, I would also love to return to New York.

In the past five years I have visited several cities, but not the gay aspects and so would love to return to:

London: Would like to visit that brothel everyone talks about

Dublin: Are all the Irish men as hot as I think they are?

Jerusalem: Now I know there were some hot Israeli and Arab men there.

Cities I have never been to but would love to experience;

Sydney & Melbourne: These guys look so hot

Anywhere in New Zealand: The Kiwi men look like an adventure as well

Prague: Can William Higgins be wrong?

Venice: Ok, what's wrong with a little culture?

Rome: I could get off just on the statues

Athens: Hey, this is obvious...where it all started..

Cairo: Must be something to pyramid power

Barcelona: I just like how the name sounds with a lisp

Montreal: I Once lent an ear to Marc Anthony, and now I have to see what all the shouting is about.

I have two lists. The first contains cities I have dreamed of seeing but which I have not actually been able to visit. (These choices have nothing to do with men or the gay scene – though if I ever get to any of them it is possible that I may be pleasantly surprised by what I find.)

1. Istanbul

2. Madrid

3. Barcelona

4. Lisbon

5. Sydney

6. St. Petersburg

7. Jerusalem

8. Kyoto

9. Budapest

10. Dublin

My second list includes cities that I would like to visit again for gay reasons. (I have been in each of these cities multiple times.)

1. Rio. This is a wonderful place! It is full of beautiful men and the local scene makes them easy to meet. (I should add that many other Brazilian cities offer a comparable scene.)

2. Bangkok. The city itself is hot, ugly, noisy, crowded and polluted. But it has an incredible number of very attractive men, and the go-go bar scene is a lot of fun.

3. Prague. This beautiful city is full of equally beautiful men.

RE: Oceania

Oh dear, please don't think that I don't have any interest in Oceania! I've already visited Sydney, Perth, Fiji and Vanuatu. My list of cities was only of places I have yet to see.

Not far off of my top ten still lie Tasmania, New Guinea and New Caledonia, believe me!

Cool question 10cc. I would like to visit Sydney & Melbourne plus various cities in Thailand and Japan. Also, it has been years since I was in Montreal and it might be fun to go back.

Well, I guess some of my choices for places to visit aren't based purely on their escort scene...

but it's always fun to look, even if the items are not for sale.

Cairo & Jerusalem are obviously cities of great historical & cultural interest, and arab and jewish men are so sexy! You can bet I'll be dining at the hotel in Cairo that the previous poster mentioned.

Samarkand, well... the Silk Road, Tamerlane, gorgeous turquoise-tiled mosques. It's a must see.

And Tblisi. Probably not the most exciting destination, but Georgia (and neighboring Armenia) has a lot of history. Plus, while I was in Russia this past summer, those swarthy trans-caucasians kept catching my eye! Seemed like every other street corner in St. Petersburg had a gorgeous Georgian with a big black mustache selling melons on it.

And I do so love melons!

Bangkok? Maybe if you got out of the Silom-Suriwongse area and met some gay locals who weren't attached to sex establishments or discos you'd learn the sad truth; it's about as gay friendly a place to actually live as, say, Detroit--may be worse. I've lived there and worked with gay NGOs.

These days, my dream city would be New York.

I think we may have the answer here to bringing peace to the world. Have sex with all men regardless of race, religion or creed.

Happy New Year!
