Ear Ring Codes???

Way back, I understood that there was a "code" to a man who had ear rings -- ear ring in the left meant straight; in the right meant gay; and both ears pierced meant bi-sexual. Anyone else heard of this? Is there any meaning to it today???

About 10 years ago, when ear rings for men was relatively new, I was told (by a straight boy): "Left is right and right is wrong." meaning that left ear was stright but right was gay. I suspect that code has no meaning today.

I remember hearing something like this too, but never could remember which was which. LOL. I always assumed it was still in effect, but never really put much thought to it. Or maybe it was just a rumor period.

Earrings today are so prevalent among gay/straight guys that there is no correlation between which ear is pierced and sexual preference.

 

But, paraphrasing a comic I once heard, "If you've got your nipple and or cock pierced...Honey, you're gay!"

That was definitely the code, although I can't remember the last time I saw an earring only in the right ear. Still see some just in the left but for the most part the style is in both ears, and no longer indicates anything in terms of sexuality.

Three plain gold earings in the right ear lobe means you are available for water sports; three plain gold earings in the left ear lobe means you are toilet trained.

 

Three jewel encrusted gold earings in the right ear lobe means you once dated J-Lo; three jewel encrusted earings in the left ear lobe meant you once had sex with Ben Affleck.

When I first encountered men wearing earrings, in London thirty years ago, I was told that an earring in the left ear meant you were a top, an earring in the right ear meant you were a bottom, and earrings in both ears meant you were an outrageous poof.

This was definitely the code back in the 70's when the majority of men sporting ear rings were gay. Went hand in hand with the colored hankies, especially the the leather/levi scene.

 

Now neither earrings nor hankies mean anything.

Well, the codes were replaced by explicit internet profiles that tell you exactly what the other guy wants.
