An interesting question was raised in another thread: Is escorting a top's business?

 

In my personal experience and taking into consideration my assets, 80-85% of my clients hire me as a top.

 

What's your experience as a versatile escort?

I've had a similar experience. Though I'm not keeping count, I'd estimate it's 9 out of 10 requesting top service. Though I like to bottom too, I'm rarely hired for it.

 

When I first started out all those years ago (ahem) I was more typically hired to bottom... perhaps bottom 60% of the time. As I got older I found I was being asked not only to top more often, but I'd have more appointments to be an aggressive/verbal top.

 

I love it all so am definitely not complaining!

A good friend of mine in the west village who has a lot of sex parties at his place tells me that the majority of men he encounters (non commercially) are bottoms. Almost 80% of the men at his parties identify as being bottoms. I guess there is a market for great tops! Though I am versatile, I have only bottomed for escorts. So I hire escorts who advertise as top or top/versatile or versatile. There are several reasons why it's worked out that way so far:

 

1. When I'm in a mood to top, I usually don't have a difficult time finding a bottom (for free). And not just any ol' guy, but a good bottom. So there's the money-saving aspect. Why pay for a good piece of ass when I can get it for free? I'll take a good sexual experience and $250 in my pocket over a very good one minus $250.

 

2. In the gay community in general, aging is worse for bottoms than for tops for whatever reason. Though there may be tops to be had, they all seem to want some 20something twink. Define effort.

 

It is easier to bottom in the sense that you don't actually have to get hard, or more precisely, the proceedings can proceed if you don't. That's why gay-4-pay porn stars used to be required to bottom in their first movies. The shoot wouldn't have to be cancelled (expensive) if the booked top couldn't get it up. It's basic logistics.

From 2009 - 2010 I was hired almost exclusively to be a bottom (but I attribute that to the videos I was in at the time). In 2011 it started shifting so that I was 2/3 bottom, 1/3 top (again because of the videos). 2012 I saw it shift to 50/50, and in 2013 I would say I have shifted toward 55/top - 45/bottom. 2014 has been completely undermined by weather nearly everywhere I have gone thus far, so I don't have a consensus for what I am currently.
