A low overhead is one of the benefits of our biz. Travel however is getting MORE expensive by the day. For a one week tour to Houston for example when you add 7 nights in a good hotel, airfare , rental car and meals you cant really do it for less than 1,500 bucks. So the first grand and a half you make is just to cover expenses. I was thinking that why cant I stay home without any extra expense and the actual PROFIT margin would be almost identical to a typical tour without the stress and strain on my body??? Along the same lines I am discovering that FLORIDA in the off season is actually a good place to work. The beaches are not crowded. The golf courses are wide open and cheap. YOu can walk into any good restaurant and not wait.....etc. Is it hot? yes! But it is hot everywhere now. Hotels here are dirt cheap and men and boys are actually available. I prefer to have a local regular. But variety is nice, so I enjoy meeting traveling guys as well.

A local regular would be preferred but only if I had one I really liked in my area and I don't. I would rather have a traveling stud that met all of my wants and needs than a local regular that I just was settling for.

Due to significant rising costs and increased competition, I am mostly focusing on my business here in Seattle. I still travel to SF every month or two, but I have many die hard regulars there so I know I will turn a profit whether I pick-up new clients or not. I just won't risk traveling to another city anymore unless I have an anchor client who covers my travel expenses so I can afford to stay an extra day or two after we meet. One way to keep expenses down is to team up with another escort or two but you need to make sure that they're not like you (to avoid competition) and you need to make sure they're reputable. I made the mistake in my first couple months of being in this business traveling with guys who weren't of the best reputation and unfortunately, I was associated with that for awhile though I had nothing to do with their business practices.

I am glad that you have had a change of heart of about Florida in the off season. If I am not mistaken you did post not long ago something to the effect that "the only ones that were left in South Florida were the locals and the retired people, and everyone knows they don't have any money". I posted a rather harsh response, then changed my mind, and just let the comment stand...lol.

 

As to your question, I prefer traveling escorts, but most only go to Orlando or Miami, and that is out of bounds for me. I just won't make the drive to Miami, OK a little lazy perhaps, and the hike up to Orlando is insane, but a lot of escorts love it there.

Given a choice I would stick with local guys. My one outstanding local guy retired a couple of years ago and I'm still in mourning. As a rule I definitely agree with unsub2017 and azdr0710 I would rather go to the escort rather than pay to have him come to me. I enjoy traveling and doing some sightseeing. Thus I can fly to places like Chicago, New York, London, or Miami meet up with an escort and include some sightseeing as well.

I usually suggest to someone who can't do the whole overnight thing to just come see me in DC. I can host (which saves on the hotel), I can pick them up (which saves on the taxi/travel/parking fees, and they can accumulate points for their own travel), and there's a number of inexpensive dining options nearby. Plus, DC is a great city for free entertainment, from people-watching to museum-hopping.

I have gone to city's with $500 in my pocket and walk out with a nice chunk....We're my buddy who tried it, I had to buy a ticket for him because he wasn't getting work.

 

In the summer time it can get expensive, but there are vacation homes which are inexpensive and 10x better.. I wouldn't mind on partnering up with another escort... I plan on touring for 3 months straight, if anyone's interested hit me up.

 

I'm also looking for a city I can bunk in after my touring were I can make a decent living without touring.. I was thinking l.a. However never worked there... Lol..

Big Val: Since I posted that my biz in Florida has exploded with really good new clients. I guess I just had to be patient. 3. Griffin: I have had many tours like you describe particularly in Atlanta (the atl is the atm!) Chicago and Houston but my point is that when you look at the bottom line after a week there is not much difference between the profit from a tour and the profit at home where there are no expenses. 4. unsub. EXACTLY! I have been encouraging clients to come to Florida. As Chris said I can host and pick them up. The problem is that Florida has a bad reputation in the summer. I am trying to change that. Finally, I think my new view on touring is to try NEW area to which I have not been to much if at all. Then I will get kind of a vacation experience. I actually haven't tried the touring game too much because, like you said, hotels and travel are extremely expensive, and people cancel all the time (e.g. Philly, where 30+ people contacted me and only 2 came through for a 4-day trip). I'd rather stay home and make money here, then travel on my own dime. That said, I will post when I'm going to another city and try to pay for the airfare or the hotel...and if I land an overnight or multi-hour, great!

 

But I'm finding I want a real vacation, and since I usually travel to see friends it's hard to set up escorting stuff at the same time. Seattle was an example of that, although I landed a great client out there and had some fun.

I agree. Let's say you go to NYC or Chicago to meet an escort and he has to cancel at the last minute:

 

A) You're getting to visit this great city and you're having a fun vacation anyway.

B) There's a good chance you can get someone else last-minute.

I have found that if you travel Thursday through Monday you can get pretty decent weekend rates on hotels and rental cars. You'll have to deal with a lot more children in the hotel but rooms are usually about half the price of weekdays.

I usually hire the escorts who are traveling through Dallas rather than the local guys. For example, I enjoyed seeing Mr. Justice the other night. If there's no one traveling through town who I am interested in, then a local guy might get my business. What I don't like is when there are 2 or 3 or 4 guys I'd like to meet all visiting Dallas at the same time or in quick succession, and I'm only able to see one of them.
