I find it strange, but I'm not so quick to call it a sign of a big ego. Plenty of ad copy uses third person. I chalk it up to someone who tries to sound refined and misses the mark.

I too agree that it is a stilted form and sounds a bit pretentious, but then, some escorts from overseas whose English is not 100% ask someone to help them write the ad, and a mistake like this occurs; but for those for whom English is their mother tongue, it does sound like blantant commercialism. But then, what else are ads but that?

I don't particularly like it as it seems somewhat impersonal and not a very effective way, at least for me, to attempt to make a connection with a client.

Remember Hanlon's Razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Some people can't write. Some people have no idea how their written words are received by others.

And, yes, some guys are just dicks. :p

But it can pay to keep one's mind open.

Queen Victoria did it so why not escorts. Seriously, I also find it a strange affectation.

"We are not amuzed." Of course, Vicki was representing most of the civilized world. Does Elizabeth Regina II use the same affectation?

A friend of mine here in Newcastle has his website written in the third person, but he's also a writer and it's got a parchment theme to it. He does well at escorting too as he's private school educated and sounds very much like a cast member of Downton Abbey

his site is http://www.chrisescort.com if you'd like to see a site in the third person

No Elizabeth II does NOT use the royal "we" but neither did any British monarch prior to Victoria. Some think she was referring to herself and Prince Albert and others believe she was referring to herself and god. The reference to herself and god is interesting because she wasn't the most religious of monarchs.

What kind of person would write and ad in the third person? What kind of person would post a post in the third person. He who writes in the third person may suffer with multiple personality syndrome. Or so he told himself before he wrote this.
