Hi guys. I guess I'm one of the 'lurkers' that have been mentioned recently. I read the reviews and many of your posts, but I've never posted myself. The last few days I've felt very uneasy reading the post about being watched by law enforcement. My concern is, by writing reviews on this site are we setting these escorts up for arrest? Has this happened to anyone at this site before? Escorts or clients? If this question is too up front to post I'm assuming a moderater will edit it. I guess these were all just words and entertainment to me all this time. I've even considered posting some reviews, but now I'm very concerned about the harm I may be doing.

This is a good question. One hears of sting operations (there was talk earlier this winter of some taking place in certain hotels in NYC). The only way I have of ensuring bona fides on both sides is to send an e-mail to an escort, followed by a telephone call. I try to project myself as a client used to hiring escorts and being as open as possible. I have never encountered the type of hedging that might indicate a sting operation but I am sensitive to tone of voice and willingness to discuss the proposed encounter. Sometimes when I have not liked what I heard on the line, I have politely said that i need time to think about the date ...and then I cross that name off my list of potentials! Just use my common sense, I guess, and in 20 years of hiring escorts, it has worked well. Never a bad situation.:9

On the contrary, I've had numerous escorts say this site has almost become their bread and butter. Several have asked if I would review them after I had sent a followup e-mail saying thanks I had a great time. They have chosen a profession and the only way they will get business is for others to know about them. As with any thing that is sold...marketing can be everything. If they do not understand the risk of their profession, and use due caution whether they were found here or elsewhere, then they are in the wrong profession. I usually hire for 2 hour periods and engage in conversation before anything else usually occurs. Most escorts I have been with take certain precautions, such as no money up front...only after the date, along with other things. As a client, hiring known escorts from this site helps to reduce risk in hiring in more ways than one. Also, hiring an "escort" by itself, is not illegal. Giving someone money as they walk in the door and demanding sex is. I've also had several escorts say this site helps them get out of town clients, which they feel reduces some risks. It seems some that have had some difficulty, have for some reason let their guard down after numerous dates with no problems.

I am sure the powers that be, have seen this site, just as they have seen ads in Unzipped, Frontiers, and their local Rag. If an escort is in this profession, then they know there is always a chance those powers will try to set them up. Risks of the trade.

Hey Lucky,

I agree, have you ever been away on business and opened the yellow pages to the escort ads! Everybody knows what type of escorts they are and everyone knows sex is involved including the "powers that be". Of course I personally think that male escorts should put more yellow page ads.. I hate traveling with my laptop :)

Hey Spida

You agree with what? I haven't posted on this thread! But if I did, I would also point out that it isn't just the yellow pages. The Village Voice has hundreds of female escort ads. There are weeklies like this all over the country. The Marriott Hotel Corporation is one of the biggest purveyors of pornography in the country. Think of all those hotels letting prostitutes use their rooms...The police must be awfully busy...

Opps meant KY-Top I agree with him.. I am sure I would and do agree with you also. See now I am into "mind reading" Wanna know what you are going to say next??

As has been said before, most escorts are advertising elsewhere (aol, Unzipped, local papers, etc.). This site is rarely the first time their (stage) names become public.

In case you are wondering about this site being used for prosecution, I doubt that our postings would be worth much in court. What proof is there that I'm not imagining an active sex life and posting my sexual fantasies? :+

No, I don't believe that we're hurting the escorts that we review. But of course, I never advocate breaking the law. "Escorting" per say is not illegal in the majority of jurisdictions. When I hire an escort, it is for their time and companionship.

I genuinely enjoy meeting people, being shown around town, fine food, good shows, and finding out "What's Hot" in a new locale.

Case in point: I suspect that Franco di Santis and I would never make it to bed. However, would I hire him for an evening? You bet your sweet ass I would! He is highly Intelligent, Articulate, and Handsome. He is opinionated and willing to back it up with logic. IMHO: traits that would be much more exciting that a mere "Roll in the Hay".

One of most exciting evenings I ever had was completely orchestrated by an Escort. He took the time and effort to find out what my interests were, and arranged an agenda that fulfilled all of them. It turned out to be a "Night in Heaven" because of a pair of military boys that got swept into our "Night on the town" and wanted to experiment more than you would ever suspect.

Luck or Skill? I don't know if I'll ever be able to answer that question. All I know is that we've dated three times through out the years, and each time I have had an exceptional time. Well worth the cost of the ticket to ride.

I have to agree with Chuck on this one! You tease!! Seriously though, I share a lot of your thoughts and agree with your opinion about harming the escorts. I love upbeat, funny posts like this! :)

Dear Luv2,

IMHO most of us would rather have a bluntly honest "No Thanks" rather than a "I might call you back." It sets our minds more at ease, free-er to concentrate on other information calls turning real rather than wondering if you might actually be one of those guys who really means to possibly call back.

I do think that when we (and I still owe bttmstudNYC a glowing review, but I'm hoping, sort of, that I'll actually be waiting til after the second time I see him to write it since he might be back here in a month or two) anyway! - I think that on the blank as to when the affair happened one should list the month and the year, but not the day and the time.

The "reviews" are subjective impressions, not legal affidavits. Look at how often the escorts have responded to dispute details or even deny the encounter ever happened. Look at how many posts there are in which we have voiced our opinions that various reviews are complete fictions, either self-promotions written by the escort himself, or attacks by malicious enemies, or masturbation fantasies by those who haven't hired him at all. If authorities read the reviews, it's because they are closet queens who find them a turn-on.

Thanks for the replies guys. I figure if there had actually been harm to escorts, or clients someone would have posted it in answer to my question. I feel at ease enough to even write a review of a wonderful massage experience I've had recently. Although I see he is already reviewed here, but I feel it's time I began adding in my two cents.:9
