I just wanted to warn all escorts of a major scam that happened to me a few minutes ago which I'm very relieved that I caught just in time.

Yesterday a "gentleman" named "xxxxxxx xxxxxx" from Chattanuga, TN (sp?) called me up asking me to book myself a flight to Atlanta, GA for the weekend and I would make $2000. After quite a lengthy discussion, I gently informed him that I had just paid my car insurance and tuition and didn't have any extra funds to pay for a ticket for a client I had never met before.

After swearing up and down that he would not flake on me and that he would pay me for whatever I paid for the plane ticket he finally caved and said that he would book the flight. I gave him all of my information so that he could do so.

An hour or so later, I called the airlines to see if indeed the reservation had been made--it had--but it hadn't been paid for. He had merely put a hold on a seat. That in and of itself was not a bad thing.

I called him back and asked him why he only put a hold on the seat instead of paying for it. He told me that he decided not to use his company credit card (despite the fact that he had previous told me that he was an electrical engineer who was retired). He promised me that he would go to the airport in the morning eastern time (before I even woke up on the west coast) and pay cash for it and that I had nothing to worry about.

Needless to say that the flight came and went without me since he NEVER took care of it.

I called him up to ask if he had just overslept or whatever and he let me know that my reviews were too good to be true--nobody was that good in bed. Huh? Since when? LOL. Anyway--then he wanted my address to send me Western Union for my trouble. I told him no thank you and hung up.

This warning goes out to all escorts AND gentlemen who hire them--NEVER give your personal information out unless you 100% trust the person. Identity theft is at an all-time high and I'm not proud to say that I probably fell for it in this case. Because I gave him my personal information I'm going to have to watch my credit report very carefully the next few months. A lot of extra hassle because I didn't use my head. Please use yours! :)

PS...if a client asks YOU to pay for the airflight and says "I'll just refund you when I get here"--it's probably a scam. RUN and RUN FAST. A respectful and trustworthy client (generally) would never ask you to do such.

Thank you for your time and I wish each of you a VERY NICE DAY!

Well, I certainly hope everything turns out all right for you, as you said identity theft is a growing problem, mostly due to the amount of personal information easily accessed by the internet. It was probably also a very good move not to have given him your address, as I assume you had to give him your legal name for purposes of purchasing an air ticket for you. Outside of your name, I don't know what other information you would have had to supply.

If that's the only info you gave out then you probably don't have to worry about anything, unless it was possibly the law trying to bust escorts. Let's hope not!

My "gut feeling" is that you just ran across a flake who likes to play games for his "own jollies". As far as the credit card goes, he could still be retired, but have some type of personal business that he has set up as an individual corporation. In that situation, he could write off the costs as business expenses, but since those are scrutinized by the IRS, perhaps he didn't want to take any chances.

Your points are indeed both timely and sound advice. Both the escort and the client should have several communications to be sure they feel good about each other, before traveling such a distance for a first time hookup. This applies not only to the legal and trust issues, but also to the compatability factor. Also, I believe some escorts would rather pay for the ticket themselves and add it to the fee, rather than give out their legal info.

I think 'Ash Jordan' isn't a real name anyway, just a fancy handle like Ricky Teen or Danny Damon.

It should be a warning to all, and there is another side to the story that has happened. I fellow 'punter' friend sent a airline ticket to a rentboy in another city, the kid wound up cashing it in and never showed up or called.

The warning goes both ways, and is there 100% trust ANYWHERE???

Ash... Glad you are OK and did not fall for the scam. Also, glad you got that tuition taken care of. Maybe I'll have to return to LA and help you replenish your funds. Regardless of what Mister Scam thinks about your reviews...I KNOW you are that good in bed... I've been having Ash withdrawals all week! }(

This is depressing

:(

I thought it was a typo for 'Ass Jordan'... short for 'Hot Ass Jordan'. Oh well, it's also raining and cold and icing up.

I totally agree about not giving out information to people you don't know, but all you needed to give out for him to book an eTicket was your name -- so why would this cause you concern about ID theft?

Just curious.

Hmmm---of course to get on the flight, the escort has to have a ticket in his real name with photo-ID, so the pseudonym shouldn't even be an issue, What I want to know is why would anyone send a paper ticket (JUST LIKE MONEY) when they can get an eTicket and just wait for the escort to pick up as he boards his flight? The most airlines ever ask for besides the name is a phone number, and that is NOT mandatory.

This would have fit better on the Escorts Only forum, if there still is one. I haven't seen it for about a week, but had figured that due to some glitch I had been deleted from its list of posters. Hadn't had time to do anything about that yet, like emailing Hoo, whatever. But this post raises the question, does that forum still exist?
