I see that one of our prolific posters is on forced vacation.

I for one applaud Daddy for taking action. Such derogatory comments and terms about the profession don't have place on this Forum.

Take your judgement elsewhere, guys.

One of the few here.

I totally agree with you Steven. I speculate that the poster on forced vacation is likely still monitoring this site and isn't all too happy that he can't reply to your post.

I likewise applaud Daddy. Don't know what poster is involved but, like all arenas, common respect and decency has to be observed to make the venue enjoyable and effective.

his post, of course, would've contributed nothing to the thread, but would certainly have contributed to his quest for royalty status....thanks to Daddy, as usual....time-outs may be better than outright banishment, I hope...

When someone has been timed out I always wonder if it helped "modify" the bad behavior? Thus far, those who actually return seem to behave for a short period of time and then slowly start to get nasty again. I am not sure what the alternative is, perhaps "vacations" can be awarded sooner, and last much longer?

I don't know with certainty who is on a "timeout".....but I have a pretty good idea. If it's who I think it is, I have nothing good to say about the individual so I will say nothing at all. I do have a question however. How long does a "timeout" last on daddy's forum?

Assuming the time outer is who I think it is, let me add my thanks to daddy and co for taking this action.

I add my thanks, regardless of who the offender is. I love this site but have toyed with the idea of staying away completely because of how nasty some people are to one another. The rest of it do not enjoy that sideline drama. Thanks Daddy!

I can say OB that it did help me..for awhile, modify that bad behavior, I have reverted back several times to the nasty back and forth nonsense that NEVER accomplishes anything, but in the end, I always look in the mirror and rarely like what I see, so it is a way of checking myself. I have gotten better I think and reform to ones character is always a slow process. There are members who will from time to time send me a pm just to quietly remind me to tone it down. I greatly appreciate their input.

I think that I am living proof that you can teach an old dogs new tricks...Best to all, BVB

How long time-outs last is solely at Daddy's and the admin's discretion. They can be short (30 days) or much longer. Or permanent, as is the situation in one case I know. This case will certainly not be of that variety (the permanent ban was for particularly egregious behavior which most members are unaware of).

I also applaud Daddy. I've said it before here, and I'll say it again, I hate hostility and name calling. When someone posts something that I'm offended by, or sounds "stupid" to me, I always remind myself that this board is a collection of very different people with very different attitudes. Each has a right to his own opinion and if he wants to voice it, more power to him... it's the personal attacks and the tit for tat that bothers me. But, in general, Daddy runs a pretty tight ship, and when tempers flare and the rhetoric gets nasty I'm glad he is watching.

Hey guy,

Although you went through a "non-positive" period, you did not dwell on it or become fixated with it. I enjoy your posts and look forward to them. I enjoy REAL people. Hope to see the real live BVB in PS.

We all, hopefully, learn from experience. Most of us will have to have more than one go at life to get it close to right. I think it is great that you are open to criticism and willing to learn.

my vote

I wanted to express my agreement with the decision made by Daddy and the admin staff. I was very uncomfortable with some of the responses I had read in a few of the more controversial threads and wondered how long this poster would be allowed to throw flames before an extinguisher was used.

Really, there is no place for this kind of input, especially when it is hammered over and over in the same threads and offers nothing positive.

Thank you Daddy.....but can this poster just reinvent himself with a different user name and start all over again?????

Posted

Thank you Daddy.... even on a site like this, where we have lots of opinions and free expressions, there needs to be some decorum. I think that Daddy can monitor the source, and not just the different user name. But if someone uses a different computer and a new name, perhaps they can sneak through... however, I suspect that the old behavior would return, although I would hope that the "time out" would help them change their behavior.

Where's Rich. ?

So now we want to vote someone off the island?

It appears there is a poster here who's sole purpose is to make a mockery of this august forum. From trashing escorts & massage therapists who he has never seen, nor ever will see. How about claiming a 'hot' time with a escort who most sane minded members find repulsive?

We are being had Brothers!

Can we vote someone off the M-F??

No one was voted off, and "we" had nothing to do with it - it was strictly Daddy's call. Assuming the punishment is temporary, as is usually the case, it will be up to the person punished to decide if he wants to come back once the time out is over. Some do, some don't.

And The Principal took control. Thank you!

Yes, it was Daddy's call for this member to be 'timed-out'. But now everyone is jumping in in agreement when I gave a warning 2 months ago!

Hopefully just like "Rich.", JJ Jerk Wood won't come back...

Brother Glutes,

I understand where you're coming from but unfortunately this is not a democracy, nor a game show, but a privately owned Forum.

That being said, you are given the possibility, like in a primary school, to address your concern and remarks to the principal.

My best advice is to ignore the poster who you find repulsive. When he stops getting the attention he's looking for he'll go away.

I'm all for silencing bullies wherever and whoever they are. Mean people suck and there is no room for them here.

I encourage civility and mutual respect here and have had my own disagreements with JJJK, and I do think his time out was merited. But I think some of the comments here qualify as 'mean' too, IMO. And gloating always pushes my buttons!

I've only been around here a couple of weeks, but I had already picked up on the ongoing battle between glutes and jj. I agree that gloating is uncalled for. I also noticed Daddy's "warning shot" in the thread glutes linked to. If he isn't careful he might be the next one sitting in time out. Not that I'm defending jj. I haven't found his comments wholly without merit as some seem to, but I have found him unnecessarily rude at times.

By the way, can people PM while in timeout? Just curious if it is complete banishment or only public banishment.

Seeker630 I have been debating whether or not to post on this thread but after reading your post I find that I do not need to. I couldn't possibly have said it better. Thank you so very much. WELL DONE!!!!!

Welcome here! Friendly people are wonderful!

You probably missed it, but daddy fired much more than a "warning shot" over the holidays.

As far as PM's while in timeout, I am guessing that is not possible, as time-outs must prevent one from logging on in the first place? deej?
