Don't you hate it when you say the wrong thing over the phone LOL?

I think I am preferring text and email a lot more now (well, maybe not text but email). Sometimes I feel when someone calls and I'm in the middle of something, my mind gets scrambled and the words don't quite come out the way I want them to. At least with texting I can take a moment to look and figure out my schedule rather than giving a rundown on my whole week plans.

I just had someone I met before call me asking about some travel plans and I think I totally screwed it up. I talked for like 30 seconds non-stop about my upcoming travel plans but didn't mention anything about plans to that area. And to my dismay I was disconnected, thinking maybe I was hung up on!

Do any of you ever do a, "Hi, can I call you right back?" so you can get your mind together?

Vienna Calling

As anybody who has met me will probably state, my mind is "never" together so it's a moot point for me. I do get that way sometimes on TWITTER though.

Well, in this case it was just technical difficulties LOL. So nothing personal there.

But still...one can still get a bit flustered. Just breathe, and smile LOL. I did 2 years in high volume phone operations before this, this should be easy LOL.

It's not nearly as bad as saying the right thing to the wrong person on the phone.

I believe that in a profession such as ours it is very important to not only be present but let the other know that you are present one hundred percent during the whole interaction so I think it is not only ok but desirable if you take a moment to gather your thoughts and come back focused, present, refreshed and ready to engage.

I personally would not say that I need to pause to gather my thoughts, I would perhaps say something like:

"I am so glad that you called and are interested in my services. I try to make a point of giving my one hundred percent to my clients and in this moment there are things around me that are not letting me focus on you completely.* Would you mind calling me back (or I can call you if that works) in five minutes when I am in a more propitious place to talk to you? I don't want to miss a word of what you say."

* noise, distractions, I am driving, I am unable to talk because of the people around me, I am about to start a session

I think it is a common misconception amongst escorts that clients expect us to be always on, perfectly oiled machines, and sometimes based by the way our clients (and ourselves) talk about us it is easy to understand why, but I am convinced that clients are thankful when they are allowed to see an unexpected human side during their interaction with you. It is perfectly okay not to be laser sharp focused all the time and it is great if you request to talk to them only when you are.

I hope this very personal opinion is helpful.

Big hug!

No but the thought of you turned on and perfectly oiled is getting me thinking about a transcontinental excursion, unless that trip is the NYC Pride in which case, put an overnight side for me.

Juan, another polite, personal, and kind hearted answer. Your manners and wisdom are more commonly attributed to someone far beyond your young years. I'm a sucker for a true gentleman. Sorry, back on topic. Joey, ditto what Juan says!

I'd definitely ask people if you can call them back.

I have no problem letting people know --politely -- that I'm busy at the moment but will be glad to call back xx minutes/hours from now.

And when I call an escort, the first thing I ask is this: Is it a good time for you to talk for about five minutes?

Thanks for the tip. BTW, I wasn't referring saying something as candid as, "I have to get my thoughts together LOL". What I was referring to in this example was having my schedule near me so I can give accurate ideas of what my availability is for the given time.

However, even though this is considered 'business' I think the above response 'might' be a bit overkill. It almost sounds like a voice-mail. Maybe just the word 'services' which I dislike hearing. I think that's fine for a receptionist desk of a law firm, but I've found I've gotten by fine just saying something like, "Hi, do you mind if I give you a call back in (stating time frame), I am (state what I'm doing)." By stating the time frame they know when to expect me to call them back, and to live up to that. If the time is really bad, I may not even answer the phone.

But otherwise, the jist of what you're saying is great.

OK can you not do that please? It's annoying. If you want to talk about what fantasies you have for him and appointments, do it in an email or in one of his threads. Not my thread. That is inappropriate. If a speaker was on the podium asking the audience a question and Juan responded, you wouldn't yell that out in public would you? So please refrain from doing it here.

Thanks for reminding me that I have an ignore option.

Oh crap that sucks...

Speaking of which, I had some nut call me at 6 AM on a Sunday morning asking if I would do his girlfriend with him. Literally woke me up out of my sleep. I didn't need to be in the right mind the click the phone on him without saying a word!
