Chicago may be known for fine restaurants and the arts but this IS STILL the midwest. Yeah cornhole (sometimes called bags) is all over the place. In some neighborhoods you can't walk a block without running into some frat boys cornholing with their buddies in plain view right on the sidewalk!

 

You surprise me, Raul! You know darned good and well that if you're going cornholing on the Northside you must be properly armed:

If there isn't a game of cornhole going on in Boystown I can guarantee you will find some two blocks away in Wrigleyville (home of the Cubs and plenty of beer and cornholing ya know?) along Clark st. where there are dozens of frat infested bars or elsewhere in Lakeview or several other neighborhoods around the city.

 

Though I don't remember which ones I know that several bars in the city have cornhole platforms / courts. Not as much fun as a backroom IMHO but quaint that they share some terminology. I'm sure I could track one down, even one with an interesting twist, in a few minutes of googling, head scratching, phone calls or a quick bike ride around the neighborhood.

 

Before Raul's post--I was feeling all alone and misunderstood--in other words in Cornhole H-ll.

I confess I wasn't aware of this at all until a few days ago when someone asked if I was going to come. I don't remember ever getting an invitation, and I'm sorry if I have in any way been flakey regarding this rendez-vous. I will be in Chicago on these exact dates; however, I agreed to attend and be a presenter at the Grabby's this year, and that ceremony is May 28. If I can attend prior to the obligations I have for the Grabby's, I will. Could someone please send me the information for this brunch? There's 13 pages of replies, and I can't sift through it right now to find the place/time. Oh, and wish me luck: I've been nominated for two Grabby's myself. ;-)

I must admit that because of my final Capstone Project I haven't been able to visit the forum for a while now. Looks like I have some catch-up reading to do about the forum dinner. I am definitely looking forward to it though! Can't wait to see everyone again and meet some great new people!

Add Another Place Setting

 

I've been on Sabbatical, so I don't think I've responded to this thread. I have made travel arrangements and plan to be there. The only disappointment is that I think a lunch would have been better for me because I was interested in seeing porn royalty at the GRABBYs. Oh well, I'll probably be able to see some hot guys much closer at the Forum Dinner (formerly known as the Hoovillian Dinner)- Central Coast Division than I would at the GRABBYS. Who do I have to know ( and more importantly what do I have to do to get a seat at the HEAD Table at this shindig:o)!!!

 

 

Someone mentioned that the 'vibe' would be different from the Palm Springs get together as the clients seemed to be attending mostly, if I may use the term 'UNESCORTED' even though many ESCORTS will be present. But I think this arrangement is not totally unknown. Isn't there precedent for this type of get together with the LA Forum Members? Haven't they had dinners with escorts present-- but going stag-- at, is it Mickey's in the past?

Like any good college student who enjoys a good tailgate...I have a pair of cornhole boards...but I doubt they will fit in my suitcase to take to Chicago.

Its sort of like a Thesis in the sense that its a final project to get a master's degree, but its only between 40 - 60 pages, and instead of having to defend it you simply have to survive a symposium and Q&A session with the department faculty.

Ryaan-- why do I get the feeling that if you showed up looking exactly the way you do in your Avatar picuture, the faculty would rubber stamp 'Accepted' on your Capstone Symposium paperwork fast enough to make your head spin, so they could get it out of the way-- and proceed to the much more important 'personal interviews' where they could really see how you 'feel' about hour topic and what you ' stand' for!!! !!

I sent an email to you yesterday outlining the time and location of our cocktail hour and dinner, please let me know if you didn't receive it. I've booked a private room for our group at Weber Grill Restaurant, webergrillrestaurant.com, 539 N. State St. for Saturday, May 28th. Cocktails and social hour begin at 5:00 pm, followed by dinner. I hope that you'll be able to join us for however long you're able before your commitment at the Grabby's, we'd love to see you.

I'm sorry for any scheduling conflict between the dinner and the Grabby's, it just worked out that way. I'm glad that you'll be able to join us, there is no head table, maybe head UNDER some tables? NO, just kidding, the reservation's in my name!!!!
