I have a lot to be thankful for that I all too often take for granted. Three things that come to mind are:

1. The unconditional love and support of my family.

2. The bond that I have with my friends, both long term and newer ones. I'm so greatful for the friendships that I am developing with some truly amazing guys I've met through this forum. Thank you guys, for helping to make my life a better one.

3. My good health and good fortune. :)

After the last month, I am so thankful

1. To have the privilege of being given more time to fully appreciate the people I love and care about.

2. To have such a wonderful support group--particularly my FORUM FRIENDS

3. To find peace and joy in the abundance of nature's joys

Thanks

1. Spending Memorial Day weekend with my son.

2. Hearing that things seem to be goinig quite well at the Chicago dinner (come on guys, we need details when you can).

3. The past nine months of my life. Nine months ago today I joined the forum and my life has been changed by so many of you You have touched my life and I'm eternally grateful for that. I've grown more, changed more, progressed more in the last 9 months than I did in the first 55 years. Who knew that in nine months I could have gone from horrribly closeted married man to coming out and now I'm actually even starting to date. As in not a hookup, a date. Simply amazing.

Or, in the immortal words of Hawkeye Pierce -- "I haven't loved all of you. But I've loved as many of you as I could".

Even when times get tough, there are many things we should be thankful for. Today I am thankful for:

1. Celebrating 12 wonderful years with my beloved buddy Longfellow

2. Enjoying the good fortunes that are happening to my wonderful friends

3. The good fortune to be able to spend quality time with one of my favorite people in NYC next month

Have a great day filled wth memories

On this special day for me, I have countless people and things to be thankful for, but here's 3:

1. The unique ability to have 2 BIRTHdays in 1 year (Thanks Tyger for that thought)

2. My growing circle of real, true friends who have made so much possible for me.

3. My newfound life alone (with Longfellow, of course) but NOT LONELY

I hope everyone experiences the rewards I've been fortunate enough to experience.

I visited this thread a while back and posted. Today I see it has garnered over some 600+ posts. Great! Fantastic! Magnificent! I applaud and thank the man who generated this wonderful and postive thread. It has given one much to think about in terms of three things and/or persons or whatever for which he's most thankful! From the posts that I've read, the men really seem to have given much thought as to what they decided was most important in terms of their being thankful! :) :)

Home Depot has a rewards program on top of everything? (Sleep with 4 salesman and we'll throw in a few hours with a shipping clerk?) Damn. :)

Seriously, my list today is simple:

1. I have talked with a great friend about whom I have been concerned and he is OK.

2. A truly amazing man I am fortunate enough to call a friend is enjoying a wonderful birthday. He better be enjoying it or there will be hell to pay later.

3. That another good friend is anxiously awaiting the arrival of a special gentleman caller and a glorious, slutty time is expected by and for all.

Friends. That's something that is to always be thankful for.

This thread, after being dormant for a while, I think could stand to be revived again.

1. I am thankful that I don't need to worry about where my next meal is coming from. I volunteered today at our local community food bank. Their shelves were as empty as I have ever seen them. Where normally they have hundreds upon hundreds of jars of peanut butter, today they had fewer than 10. Tuna fish was down. Many other staples are seriously depleted.

2. I am thankful for the life of Frank Kameny. He meant an awful lot to those of us who benefited from his struggle.

3. I am thankful I have so many amazing men looking out for me and my well-being and happiness. I am truly lucky.

Posted

1. I am happy that I lived another day

2. I am happy that I am gainfully employed and have a bit of job security

3) I am happy that some members on this site DONT know where I live..... ;-)

Ditto, JJ. But some of our fellow posters are quite the detectives. I would counsel you to go to work by different routes every day and occasionally look over your shoulder - there may be an angel there, or a cute guy, or a disgruntled fellow poster hellbent on revenge and "teaching you a lesson."

Seriously though, thanks, Lee, for resurrecting this - I have to take time myself to think like this sometimes and it's always good to remind myself that I have been incredibly lucky and have a great life. Even with all that goes wrong as a part of life, there is still a lot that goes right too - the cup is at least half full.

That's simply one of the most remarkable statements of gut honest honesty which most will never be able to embrace, less ever understand.

The most important thing about that is, and will always be for you, is that you do.

xoxox & bravo for you.

**wipes away a tear or two from my eyes**

As an edit, I am compelled to re-post this video because this type of honesty and self discovery is, or should be, all about celebration.

3. Thankful for HIV and the coming of truth with my wonderful wife about parts of who I am.

Sometimes, just sometimes, these women we married surprise the hell out of us. I fully expected the usual "leave the house and I want an immediate divorce" when I came out to mine almost a year ago. Surprise!!!! Nope. We still stay together for now, even with her knowing that it is not forever now. I still support her and am her biggest fan. I was proud two weeks ago to attend the celebration lunch of the Susan Komen foundation for breast cancer survivors. And she has never said anything negative as I continue to deepen my relationship with my boyfriend. Knowing full well where it will lead. A remarkable woman. And a blessing in my life.

You know you are in my thoughts a lot, Rich.

Still more to be thankful for.

1. My incredible boyfriend. Who is always concerned that we are being considerate and is deferential to my wife's needs. His consideration for her is one reason I know I have chosen the right man.

2. The seeming outbreak of relationships everywhere I turn. Friends who are just starting relationships with men who really seem to be great fits. Escorts who are in or have recently started relationships with some wonderful guys. I am hopeful for each and every one of these relationships. They all seem great fits to me.

3. This coming weekend. When I will be taking my boyfriend to DC for his birthday (no galleries for me this weekend). And I think almost every one of the friends and escorts mentioned in #2 are also going away or having romantic weekends with their boyfriends. Love seems to be breaking out all over.

It's been awhile, but here goes:

1. The beauty of the desert sunset.

2. A man who knows how to kiss.

3. Jacuzzi weather has finally arrived in the desert....cocktails beneath the stars are a wonderful reason for surviving the thing I call "the furnace," the desert Summer.

Send a simple note to someone tonight who has made you smile this week. I promise you, it's worth the effort.

I cannot speak for #1 or #3 but for #2 Brandon you are very welcome and I thank you as well.

I just discovered my dog Rusty has a progressive neurologic disease and though she is 15, I hope I can keep her comfortable and content until the end of her days. This condition is not a painful one but it does lead to paralysis, so I am planning on getting her a doggie cart now while she can still get along and so she can get used to it.

So my three things today are related to Rusty:

1 I am grateful for the time I got to spend with the beautiful woman who brought Rusty and 6 other dogs into my life. She was incendiary and brought a color and vibrancy to my life which did not exist before her nor exit with her passing. I was lucky enough to call her my wife and that will always be my life's shining achievement.

2 I am grateful for the 15 years Rusty has been with me. Since she was first found tied to a fence in the schoolyard of the school at which my wife worked until today, she has been a blessing. As the last living dog of the 7 my wife and I shared, she is a living link to my past and therefore holds a special place in my heart. How can I not be grateful for such a

tangible link to the best years of my life,

3 I am grateful that this condition is not a painful one so that I may be able to share a greater amount of time with Rusty and she with me and her dog brothers Ben and Bonehead.

Thanks to those three, I have a family.

Gotta go feed the dogs. Have a great weekend.
