In what will certainly go down as the weirdest, most unusual thank you in this series and perhaps for any gay man

1. the most amazing wife any recently out gay man could have

2. the best surgeon in the world who helped her through her surgery on thursday

3. and all of my amazing friends who have stayed in touch with me and sending her and me best wishes for her recovery.

these are weird times, aren't they???

I am just starting to do this, but here's 3 that have meant so much to me the last few months:

1. The privilege of getting to know so many caring and helpful new "real" friends through the Forum

2. The never-ending love and companionship of my beloved sidekick, Longfellow

3. Because of the above 2, finally, after many years, finding the REAL BILL, someone I really like!

Lee,

You indeed have much for which to be thankful and your's is a very unique situation.

As a fellow gay married man, I'm more than a bit envious of the way that your wife has handled your coming out. I'm also very glad that she's doing so well after her surgery.

These are weird times, indeed, but hopefully we're growing and learning as we continue our journey. All the best . . . :)

I'm very glad that we've been able to meet one another through the forum and get to know each other a bit. I value you as a friend and look forward to being able to meet the real Bill in Chicago during IML. :)

1). I am thankful that when I look in the mirror I do not see a perfect, intelligent, wise complete Man. It means I still have the potential to learn, grow and achieve more... that more important then the image is the greater potential that can be achieved.

2). While I am no greater then the next person, I am no less either.

3). There was still more room in my yard for my recent plantings of two pecans, another almond tree and my personally prized sassafras tree~ I caaaaan't believe it~ What can I say... such fond memories of Gumbo file' I just had to do it~

Then who in the hell is looking back at the mirror then. Perfect? No., no one is. Complete? Only if you are finished growing. But Intelligent and wise? You bet your ass that you are. OMFG Are you ever.

1). Thankful to be exploring the differences between being liked for who one is and being liked for what they have to offer, whether it be me it pertains to or someone else.

2). That some of the best gifts come from places and things/people that the receiver will never realize... and instead of thanking the giver, give back to some other unsuspecting but grateful person with need in the future in return.

3). That in the finite aspects of life, we realize there is much less time and room for error and misunderstanding and so, are motivated instead to prioritize what is the better and best things to do with the time we have to the best of our ability and understanding.
