I have mixed feelings about posting this though I believe it echos what you have mentioned.

My information comes from an apparently well-informed gay physician treating a friend of mine for Syphilis. If you have a better source of information, fine, but do not discredit information coming not only from the MD but also from information published by various health organizations.
