There was some speculation in another thread that an escort's posts here on the MC may have some clout in an escort's success.

I was wondering, if any escorts here would reject a client based on the client's posts on this site.

I always thought that on most message boards not just this one but others as well.. That most people search the reviews on the first page find the guy they want then they move on. I bet 95% never even see the stuff written in the forum area..

Good analysis Joseph

This isn't the forum for matchmaker.com or plentyoffish where you're looking for a potential soulmate (but things happen of course ;).

Unless we are writing stories about ripping off clients, talking about how degrading we feel doing the job, or simply being incognito...I doubt that it would cause someone to go out of business.

But on the flip side, I believe some discretion is necessary....because after all this a public place. If I do have an issue, I try to keep it as discreet as possible without revealing too much. Some may or maynot agree with what I just said

Do most posters here on the MC even disclose the fact that they post on Daddy's M4M when hiring? My initial guess would be no.

If I did disclose my posting handle to any guys, it would be during the meet-up, so it would be too late anyway unless they run away when I spill the beans..... :)

I don't specifically remember ever telling an escort that I am indeed the one the only the everpurple Purplekow. They do seem to know though. I must be talking in my sleep. And sleeping on the phone.

The color purple...

Could it be do to the fact that either you look like your avatar... or perhaps you wear purple boxers... or your purple...??? Well I won't go there!!!

Actually only one guy here has so far figured out my identity... must have been something I made him do...

I usually provide the prospective escort with my MC ID (which is the same as my Reviewer ID).

My rationale is that they can read my reviews, know I'm serious, and get a good idea of what I'm looking for during the session.

So far, I've not been disappointed. I think most guys like knowing a little bit about me.

You're not far off. Fewer than 10% of visitors to daddysreviews.com visit the MC. It hovers between 7% and 9%, and always has.

Then there is the other side of the spectrum. I met the escort hired and the ones I plan to hire on the MC. I can only assume everyone is different. I guess I'm that7-9%

I always tell an escort if I found him through a review here; sometimes I also tell the escort, while we are in the planning phase, that I post and review here (particularly if he participates regularly in the MB), and sometimes I mention it at the end of the appointment, but sometimes I don't say anything about it, especially if I don't want to write a review. No escort has ever refused me when I have identified myself (for that matter, I can't remember when an escort has ever refused to be hired by me for any reason).

Do you think if the message center (forum) link on the main page was more prominent, or if there was some effort to promote the message center, there might be more traffic generated to both the message center and the review site?

Role of Daddy's Reviews & Forum

Daddy’s Reviews and Forum continue to be most relevant to the US market. Canadian Male and their reviews currently carry more weight in the domestic Canadian market. But, of course, many Americans do come to Toronto for business or pleasure, and it is my intention to do some touring in the US. Most, though not all, of the clients I’ve knowingly met through my Daddy’s reviews and posts have been Americans, with more non-members than posters. In Britain, my perception was that the concept of escort reviews was widely unknown and of negligible impact. There are only a couple of posters whom I would not care to meet based on their online personas. For a client to provide his Reviewer ID without a list of their reviews is of little use since you cannot search reviews based on this criteria. For a client to provide his MC ID could be helpful in establishing a general feel for their attitudes and preferences.

I concur with MiamiLooker that there might be more traffic in the forum if it were promoted more and had a more prominent link on the review site. I was aware of Daddy’s Reviews for years before I even noticed the MC. I'm very glad that I finally discovered the MC as I find it a valuable resource, I enjoy participating in it and I have met some great guys through it.

Unlikely. You can lead a horse to water and all that.

The MC isn't really the reason daddysreviews.com exists. It's an addon to reviews.

I'm not sure how to make it more prominent, anyway. The top page has a whopping six (six!) links: home, reviews, submit a review, donate, and MC. It isn't exactly hidden.

The fact that you use the same handle when submitting reviews was a slight hint. :p

Yes that is after the initial encounter and by then it is too late, they are already under the spell of the purplekow lol But after 2300 and now 2301 posts here, there might be enough reason for an escort to say, "rather not", before the purple magic can do its stuff. As example, the other day, I received a private message from a poster in which he sent a copy of a letter he had received and in which I was mentioned negatively related to a post I made about 2290 posts ago. Written words are a legacy, like it or not. Are past posts enough of a legacy to have any of the escorts here say "Pass" on a poster.

Wow, I can't imagine what you could have said. You're always so reasonable and/or funny. Or did I miss you on a bad day? :p

Promotion of the MC

The MC isn't really the reason daddysreviews.com exists. It's an addon to reviews.

I’m sure we all realize this. Of course, the review site serves the greater function and brings in more advertising revenue, but I do think there would be more clients and escorts benefiting from and partaking in the MC if the administration took an interest in its promotion.

I'm not sure how to make it more prominent, anyway.

Well, for instance, daddiesreviews.com could run news stories from time to time on the home page promoting the MC and mentioning some of the current topics. Also, there could be links from individual escort’s review pages to their MC profiles so that prospective clients could read how they express themselves.

I hope PK doesn't mind me going off on this tangent, since I've already responded to his question.

No anything that has you going off is okay with me. Just video tape it and save it for when we meet.

I only quoted you here for the express purpose of having this posted twice. Is there anyway I can get this made into a review?

Not exactly the "top page" PK mentioned and this isn't a bad idea but you presume escorts fill in a profile. Many don't. And there's a long-term maintenance issue that would need to be addressed. (I happen to think the reviews serve as better profiles than anything escorts provide, and jive with the purpose of the site.)

The reviews already link to the escort's advertising (and it's impossible to keep current) and you want more?

The purpose of the site? Is it to run escort reviews? Or, is running escort reviews the way to obtain advertising, which makes money, which is the real purpose of the site.

So, anything that makes money may be helpful to the site. If bringing more people to the message center makes them tune in to the review site more often, doesn't that enhance the purpose of the site?

And where is it written that the message center cannot carry advertising, thus further enhancing the purpose of the site?

deej loves to tell people to write Daddy at daddysreviews.com, but we all know that Daddy reads the message center. So posting the thought here is not really such a waste of time.

Promoting the MC II

this isn't a bad idea but you presume escorts fill in a profile. Many don't.

Actually, I was not making that assumption. I was suggesting linking escort’s review pages to their MC profiles because, even if they haven’t been filled-in, they contain links to all of the escort’s posts. When client’s email me asking for further info, I sometimes include a link to my MC profile and I’ve noticed at least one escort provides such a link from his personal website.

And where is it written that the message center cannot carry advertising, thus further enhancing the purpose of the site?

On a couple of occasions recently, when a new poster affiliated with a new escort site or agency has attempted to promote their venture without disclosing their affiliation, we have seen their post deleted by Daddy and replaced with the following:

[email protected][/email]. Please do not try to take advantage of the free services we provide by posting blatant free advertising. Such posts are not allowed unless authorized by Daddy.[/b]

Meanwhile, representatives of established agencies like Maximum Escorts and Man to Man Escorts promote their services freely on the MC. This leads me to wonder if they pay for the privilege or merely require authorization. In any case, I would not be averse to seeing more direct advertising on the MC as well, if it helped to keep it viable.
