In the NY Times magazine today, comic Margaret Cho says her most disappointing celebrity encounter was with Sharon Stone, who stared daggers at her after she requested a pic.

I had a similar experience with Kevin Bacon, except I didn't want anything. We were waiting a light together in new York. When he realized that I had recognized him, he gave me this hugely nasty look daring me to speak to him. I hadn't planned on it anyway. (Hey, I also crossed Fifth Avenue once with Nick Lachey. We didn't speak either!)

Most celebs are nice when you see them. If you live in New York, it is very common.

Your right. Living in NYC, and I assume LA, seeing celebs is just a part of life.

Most of them just want their privacy. Its hard not to stare. If they notice

me looking, I just smile, nod, and move on. We're jaded New Yorkers and

too me that's the "proper" thing to do.

My favorite celebrity moment happened years ago. Went to dinner and

sat next to Alex Bladwin and Kim Bassinger. They lived a few houses away

from me and we often saw each other at the local diner during breakfast

so I didn't think twice about it. We both happened to leave dinner at the

same time....and since we lived near each other...we took the same

route home. About 1/2 home Alex starts driving VERY erratically. Then he

suddenly pulls over on the side of the road. I slow down just to make sure

they're ok. He rolls down the window and starts going into a tirade about me

"stalking" them.

I couldn't stop laughing. Which of course only made him more irate. I politely

told him that "we see each other EVERY morning and I live next door to you...

WHY would I bother stalking you? I'm just driving home dude....CHILL".

Of course, I left out the "besides it's my boyfriend that thinks you're cute...

I think you're a big fat pig with a bad attitude" part. Somehow at the time

I didn't think that was going to "help" the situation.....lol

I've seen more celebrities in Brazil than in this country, probably because other than those on exclusive private island getaways they'll all hang at the same 4 places - Fasano Hotel and Emiliano Hotel in Sao Paulo and Copacabana Palace and Fasano Hotel in Rio.

The Margaret Cho-Sharon Stone encounter story reminded me of reading Carnie Wilson (that heavy girl group memeber/talk show host/daughter of Brian Wilson) stating she was walking and met Streisand at the end of Babs' driveway on an early morning and gushed over her and practically got herself a new torn asshole for that.

When Hairspray was previewing in NYC I called the box office on a whim and got a very good single seat in the orchestra for the same evening. When I was seated, who should the person next to me be but Catherine Zeta-Jones. But I didn't know that. Not being a person who follows celebrities much, I realized this gorgeous woman was someone I should recognize, so I politely smiled at her and said, I have the feeling I have seen you somewhere. She identified herself (modestly), and I had the wit to remember I had seen her in a film that I enjoyed, Traffic as I recall, and praised her work. She was incredibly gracious. Then I shut up for the rest of the evening, simply saying at the end how wonderful the play was. She agreed and with a ravishing smile and a twinkle in her eye wished me a nice evening. What a fine lady.

I have met a few celebs over the years including Loni Anderson (a very class act), Chili from TLC (very down to earth and likable), 3LW (They sat next to me at the Regal Hollywood 24 in Atlanta); Usher (at a Steak and Shake in the ATL, got his autograph and he is even HOTTER in person than on the screen); Bobby Brown (buying beer and wine at Publix and he was already drunk...lol) but my most favorite encounter was getting to meet the late great DeForest Kelley while he was here in the ATL for a Star Trek convention, one of the few he ever went to. What a gentleman.

I sat next to Jeremy Sisto from Six Feet Undeer at the play The Little Dog Laughed. He was friendly, but I didn't have much interest in him. He plays crazy guys a lot.

Have also seen in the audience Hal Holbrooke, Joan Rivers, Donald Trump, among others, but I followed Oprah right out one night. She got in a Suburban very quickly, and then got stuck in traffic. Even Oprah couldn't move that.

In the early 1980s, I lived in New York and belonged to an informal group that tried a new, trendy restaurant each month. One evening at Texarkana, we were having a rather raucous meal (there were eight of us, of both genders and sexual orientations), when I noticed the male couple at the next table had ceased their conversation and were observing us with curiosity. I didn't recognize the younger man, but the other one was Andy Warhol. I gave him my most brilliant smile, and he just stared at me expressionless, then went back to eating his dinner.

Elton John getting his toes sucked before his performance.

I was an observer. Don't ask. ;-)

In the early '80's, my partner and I were riding along with the top down and stopped at a light next to a limo. My partner looked over to see Bill Murray looking back at him. My partner did a double take and then smiled. Without missing a beat, Bill Murray gave my partner an identical double take reaction and smiled right back. He's a funny guy.

Get out of here, Lookin. I mean it, you knucklehead! :p

I once cooked scrambled eggs at 5 AM on a film set for Sarah Jessica Parker. I really can't cook very well (and she'd ordered "over easy" but I can only do scrambled so that's what she got) but she very politely ate them with a smile anyway.

A couple of years ago I was having dinner at Spago’s in Beverly Hills when someone taped me on the shoulder. I turned and Matt Damon proceeded to ask me if the short ribs I was eating were as good as they looked. I said they were. He thanked me, turned, and ordered them. After his order arrived and he took his first bite he taped me on the shoulder again, said they were delicious and thanked me again. A very, very nice guy

While at a performance of Morning Becomes Electra in London, starring Helen Mirren, I noticed that Ralph Fiennes was seated in the row directly in front of me. While walking out at the intermission I told him how much I had enjoyed his performance in the Talking Cure the year before. He didn’t, at first, appear to be very pleased about being approached but when I said that I much preferred his stage performances to his screen ones he became very animated. We ended up spending the entire intermission discussing the difference between the two mediums and he stated bluntly that he made films for money but did live theatre for love. When we arrived back at our seat he thanked me for approaching him and said how much he had enjoyed our conversation. Another very, very nice guy.

I have a friend who had quite an experience with Sir Elton, but I won't "kiss and tell" lol

I think there's an escort well-known here who can tell Elton Toe Stories. :-)

First time most of us have heard of you cooking anywhere other than the bedroom.

I guess Sarah Jessica and I have something in common, because I distinctly remember asking you to go "over easy" but you just scrambled and I remember smiling while eating what was served up.

Celeste Holm has torn quite a few new ones.

If I had crossed Fifth Avenue with Nick Lachey I probably would have been arrested for attempted rape.

I'm on the Atlantis Asia cruise at the moment and had dinner next to Rita Moreno on Sunday.

She's performing for the guys on Friday - that's our first night in Bangkok and I wonder how many will stay on the ship to see her what with shuttles to the party district.

Years ago I worked at a high end hotel and had the pleasure of meeting Catherine Deneuve -

a real charmer who loves flea markets.

Biggest A*hole was Steven Stills.

Celebrity's

Back in the days, '79 to '83 I worked at a wonderful hotel (at that time) in Westwood near UCLA. It was known as the "best kept hotel secret". Dustin Hoffman stayed there temporarily while moving from NY as did many celeb's moving to California. We even had the "stones" stay there while they were doing their "Some Girls" tour. I had a chance to see many Celeb's like Streisand, Pardon, Brolin, Kiss, Frampton, Beach Boys, Rather, etc, etc. All with no paparazzi - those were the good "ole" days in my life... such a thrill for a "small town boy" in Hollywood!

Isn't that the guy who is currently playing a detective on Law & Order? He doesn't do much for me either.

I'm leavin' Cheyenne......

Last night I spotted Cheyenne Jackson bounding out of a Chelsea deli. He's a big guy and moves with powerful energy. I asked him for a blow job, but he said he was busy.

Whilst supping with Queen Elizabeth at White Castle Tuesday last, I gave willie the Wino 1.00$ American.

What a thrill it was to meet such a storied soul as Willie. He was as humble and grounded as one could imagine.
