RE: Complaints!!

You are complaining about getting sucked by four movie stars? I guess those living in LA just have different standards from us in the rest of the world. )-:

"Samuel Jackson, Elizabeth Hurely,Kelsey Grammar. All sucked."

Sorry, it was a feeble joke.

James Carville once winked at me on an airplane. Another time John Madden stole the cab I had just hailed in NY, and I now remember splilling a drink on the back of Betty Buckleys' gown at some benefit in Jersey. She was unaware, but I was mortified.

I live in Celebrity central in NYC. I go to the same morning coffee shop as Kyle Mcghlauklin (sp.), Ricky Lake, Garbiel Byrne, and in the same restaurants in my neighborhood as Monica Lewinsky, Uma and Ethan, Gwyneth, Kevin Spacey...all these and more live in the West Village. Sandra B. used to ive there but she has movec to the Upper East- yuck- but she still hangs around this part of town a lot so I see her. Musto from the Village Voice I also see cruising the neighborhood at nite- very undignified for a local celeb. blu

In 1996 I attended a luncheon with Barbara Bush where she answered questions from the audience. During my question to her, I admitted feeling a little out-of-place since I wasn't a Republican.

Before I could finish my question, she interrupted me. She said questions from non-Republicans were welcome but asked the audience to make me feel "at home" in their group.

She then proceeded to lead the group in giving me the "raspberry". Despite that warm and personal moment, I still haven't voted for a Republican.

Sounds just like Bar's dry sense of humor.

She was recently asked what it felt like having her son in the White House. She went on to tell a story of keeping after George W to pick up his room, etc., and how he wasn't exactly an easy child to raise. And she ended by saying "and now, he's getting back some of his own."

I love that lady.

Celebrity encounters.....

Well, I've known Elisabeth and Andrew Shue for years, when Elisabeth had just completed "The Karate Kid", and Andy was just a high school kid. Other stars and celebrities I've met over the years: Jon Voight, Dennis Weaver, Archibald Cox, John Amos, Rosa Parks, Michael Dukakis, Christy Whitman, George Herbert Walker Bush, Norman Schwartzkopf. And professional athletes too numerous to list.

"For evil people that I have encountered...Samuel Jackson, Elizabeth Hurely,Kelsey Grammar. All sucked."

I was wondering in what type of situation you met these people? Like, did you run into them in public somewhere and then approach them to talk, or sign an autograph, or what?

Personally, I think one shouldn't approach a celebrity in public; the most I might do is nod and smile and say "hello". I can't imagine what it must be like to have complete strangers coming up to me all day, trying to engage me in conversation and invading my privacy. I suppose it's the price you pay for celebrity, though, and I guess I'd put up with it grudgingly if I were pulling in millions of bucks a year by being one of them.

I've had a number of celebrity encounters over the years. A couple of my favorites:

1) At a diner, sitting at the table next table from Zsa Zsa and Eva Gabor, both happily gobbling club sandwiches and french fries with their fingers;

2) At the premier of "Polyester" as a sixteen year-old, having my ass felt up by Divine while having a photo taken with her.

I was alone on an elevator with a delightfully friendly Irene Ryan (Grannie of the Beverly Hillbillies); walked Bill Clinton down a hallway at a hotel to a ballroom two days before he was first elected President; lent my portable typewriter to Bruce Villanch before anyone knew who the hell he was, especially me; escorted Bruce Jenner to the stage from the green room (he still had that ridiculous haircut); and stood at a urninal next to Sam Shepherd at a Broadway play. I won't go into the details of getting hit on by Raymond Burr or dating "Ronald McDonald."

>I won't go into the details of...dating "Ronald McDonald."<

Please go into those details. Floppy shoes, rubber nose, painted smile, inner torment, fugitive emotions, fastfood empire... Intimacy with a clown like that has got to be a story worth telling. Give.

Working at events held in NYC I've met and seen a few

celebrities.

I've met Cyndi Lauper 3 times. She is very nice to her fans

and truly loves her gay following. If she wants something a

certain way for a performance, it will be that way.

I've met Deborah (don't call her Debbie) Gibson. She is very

sweet and really loves interacting with people. Her people are

very protective, but I imagine without them (especially her

mother) it would be easy for her to be taken advantage of her.

I was able to hear Cher soundcheck once. I was helping prep

for an event before the one she was performing at. She came

in surrounded by 4 people. The DJ played her CD and she said,

"Yeah, I sound good." She then left without saying a word.

Although once when walking home from work, three guys came out

of a theatre (it was about 4:15 pm). I noticeh the one in the

middle was really humpy if somewhat short. They walked to 8th

Avenue to eat in a diner. As they turned, I saw the middle one

was Alec Baldwin who was performing in Streetcar Named Desire.

Others I've seen have been Tom Wopat, Steve Winwood, Grace Butler

, Ron Eldard (the last two performing as comics before they hit

TV), Betty Buckley, Margaret Cho, Dan Butler, but I didn't talk

to them as I didn't want to disturb them.

To the above, I also live in the West Village, add Matthew Broderick, Sarah Jessica Parker and Eddie Falco. Also, the guys from Oz since it films near 14th street.

Okay, if you insist, I'll spill the nuggets on dating Ronald McDonald, but only because it was soooooo long ago. I was at a private dinner-party in San Francisco where I was a graduate student and I was introduced to this perky guy named Chip. He was very funny, cute and could not sit still long enough to cross his legs. A definate crowd pleaser and conversation hog. My friend, the host, introduced him as a "retired UCLA cheerleader," and I asked "Can you do the splits?" to which he replied, "Only for you, sweet-thang!" He was fun, but wore me out with puns and one-liners to the point of wanting to stuff his red wig down his throat. We went out two or three times, but it was clearly not going anywhere, given that he simply could not fuck without squirting me in the eye, could not suck without blowing an airhorn everytime I shot, and absolutely ruined my linens with grease paint. Plus, I couldn't fold myself into his car.

He was fun to the point of aggravation, but at that time in my life, I was only into really brooding, heavy-jawed accountant types with hidden agendas and cacti for houseplants. Chip had nothing but pictures of himself all over his house, everywhere you looked, cutting ribbons, shaking hands with celebrities and accepting awards from various charities. I wonder what ever happened to him?

I would never disturb a celebrity in public. Especially while they were eating, shopping, or with friends or family. I was at a 2000.00 a plate charity event in Beverly Hills, where it was pretty much the celebritys job to be cordial and "good hosts".

RE: Real Life

This is one of the funniest posts I've ever seen on this site. Thanks for several big laughs.

I worked at an Airport Marriott quite some time ago for a number of years and quite a few stars passed thru their doors. Charlton Heston was in town for a celebrity tennis match and I waited on him and his son. Both very nice. Vincent Price was in town for an Art Show, very quiet and reserved. Bob Eubanks from The Newleywed Game missed his connecting flight and came in for a quick bite. Wayland Flowers just finished a show in Atlantic City and his connecting flight in Philly was cancelled due to snow. He came in for Breakfast and when I asked him where "Madame" was, he said she only orders Room Service!!! Also, when flying I usually get seated in First Class as my best friend works for American Airlines and I'm his designated domestic partner. Flying JFK to L A, sat across from Liza Minelli. She sat on the isle while her little dog in his little cage had the window seat. Flew Miami to Chicago behind Gloria Estafon and her road manager. Also, had a nice conversation with Sybel Sheppard from L A to Albuquerque. She lives in Santa Fe. Also, while in Santa Fe, I worked out at the same gym with Tab Hunter and his lover. Both very nice. At lastly - sat next to Richard Simmons at The 4-Sesons Fountain Room In Philadelphia, while he was in town filming for QVC. Not at all the flamboyant queen he puts on to be. Actually was a bit shy!!!

Thought we'd pull this old thread out of archives. It's been a year and a half and I'm sure we have some new Celebrity sightings by now.

I was on a flight LA - Boston recently and got seated next to Jim Belushi. I didn't believe it was him so he reached in his pocket and gave me his ticket stub from his boarding pass. It said: Mr. James Belushi. He had two drinks after take off and then promptly put on his blinders and went to sleep. Didn't wake up until we touched down at Logan.

A couple of years age I walked out of a restaurant in South Beach, Miami, and encountered Mike Tyson. He was walking down Collins Ave with a huge bodyguard (funny, eh?) at least 6'7" and 300 pounds. Mike, on the other hand was shorter than me (I'm close to 6') and in gray sweats looked sorta small. Some young guys on the next corner asked him for his autograph and he just snarled at them (good ole Mike) and we continued walking down the street together. Mike got on his cellphone and asked if the girl had the key, the bodyguard, who by this time was on a cellphone too, said to Mike, not to worry, she was already in the room waiting for him }( Good ole Mike!:7

Politicians and their ilk

Geraldine Ferarro (sp) when she ran for VP in San Francisco, Jimmy and Roselyn while building a Home for the Habitat in Georgia, Rosa Parks at a dinner party somewhere in the South, Hugh Rodham, his sister, her husband and some men in ill fitting suits and sunglasses in New Orleans, Jerry Brown with Linda before their Africa trip in my pre-twink days (Tucson, Arizona), his holiness, John Paul I, the day before his death, Vatican City, Princess Anne in San Francisco, Juan Carlos in Barcelona, Sophia in Madrid, the twins in Porto, Sarah Ferguson at a Weight Watcher's table at Moscone Convention Center, Winston's daughter in Manhattan (very charming), Patti and Ronnie Jr's father, sans Mommy, at a B-BQ benefit for Barry Goldwater on a ranch in Southern Arizona, where he spoke for a good 20 minutes with the well-known "dildo lady," Steve when he was just Brigham Young's grandson (or is it great grandson?), Gerald and Betty many times, most recently in Rancho Mirage, and she is as radiant and wonderful as ever, Susan once at a play in Los Angeles, Jack also that same week, at the La Brea Tar Pits, although I missed seeing Steven, John John during the Daryll Hannah period, East Village, the Girabaldi children, without unfortunately, their parents, in Miami, Queen Noor and her husband, also in South Florida, Bill Graham and Lawton Chiles, and any number of lesser known Florida politicians, and many more, but except for a few names here, no one really cares, do you?

Let's cut to the good stuff: who had sex with celebrities? Many are the tales of sucking and fucking with Tony Perkins. A friend got it off with Michael Tilson Thomas. Another claimed an ongoing tryst with Barry Bostwick. Someone recently said Sean Hayes was quite a come on. And then there was...........?
