viewing ownly Posted Wednesday at 03:53 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:53 AM Regularly working masseurs I'm sure get asked this more times than they can bear. Clients wanting something to make their special day a little more special, whether it's pushing boundaries that have a clearly listed donation for what they do, more time than a standard session as a bonus, or the most common and worst request - a discount (or worse, free). How do providers approach this, and is it different depending on whether you've been seen by him before or not? It makes sense to be more apt to possibly extend time by a little if he's a regular, and choosing to spend his big day in your company. Perhaps there are those that are of the opposite variety, and spoil the masseur with an unexpectedly high gratuity, or even see if he is free later in the day for an unexpected (and re-donated) round 2?
maninsoma Posted Wednesday at 10:25 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:25 PM I don't share your assumptions. I cannot imagine being a customer of any business -- and that includes a man working independently as a masseur -- and asking them to give me something for my birthday unless they advertise that they do that for customers. (For example, both Peet's and Starbucks give their regular customers free birthday drinks.) I have had "regulars" offer me something special for my birthday, but those offers were unsolicited by me. Typical Posted Wednesday at 11:26 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:26 PM I can’t imagine anything less appealing than a grown man asking for a birthday present. There is nothing wrong with saying “It’s my birthday and I’m treating myself to a massage” and then letting it go, maybe there will be a little treat. But ASKING for something free, or extra, or for a discount, would be cringe to say the least. We stop asking for birthday presents, cakes and ponies around age 10. That said, if you are turning 18 and need a good birthday spanking, let me know. 😉
