ericwinters Posted Monday at 03:39 PM Posted Monday at 03:39 PM I noticed someone brand‑new followed me but didn’t react to any posts or send a message. I find that a bit strange. Usually when someone follows, there’s at least a reaction or a quick hello. Curious if anyone else finds that kind of behavior odd or a little skeptical. Thanks. + azdr0710 1
+ azdr0710 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago A new person I never heard of is also now "following" me. I ignore it since there aren't any benefits or free prizes. Seems to be a remnant of old social media practices. MikeBiDude 1
MikeBiDude Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago If I follow a poster…it’s usually because I want a notification when they post. For one reason or another. BigDMike 1

+ JamesB Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I only have a few followers and honestly, most of them are people I’ve never directly interacted with. It doesn’t bother me at all. I just see it as part of how online platforms work. Sometimes people follow out of curiosity, shared interests or simply because they’ve come across your posts over time.To me, it feels more like people casually keeping up with profiles or conversations they find interesting rather than anything weird or intrusive.
Nightowl Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I don’t know that having followers or being followed really does anything, good or bad. I follow a few people but never get notified of their posts and I suspect they’re never notified of mine. Nue2thegame 1
ShortCutie7 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago All internet message boards have more readers/“lurkers” than active posters… I wouldn’t think anything of it.
