ericwinters Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I noticed someone brand‑new followed me but didn’t react to any posts or send a message. I find that a bit strange. Usually when someone follows, there’s at least a reaction or a quick hello. Curious if anyone else finds that kind of behavior odd or a little skeptical. Thanks. + azdr0710 1
+ azdr0710 Posted May 26 Posted May 26 A new person I never heard of is also now "following" me. I ignore it since there aren't any benefits or free prizes. Seems to be a remnant of old social media practices. MikeBiDude 1
MikeBiDude Posted May 26 Posted May 26 If I follow a poster…it’s usually because I want a notification when they post. For one reason or another. BigDMike, + Charlie and + Just Chuck 2 1

+ JamesB Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I only have a few followers and honestly, most of them are people I’ve never directly interacted with. It doesn’t bother me at all. I just see it as part of how online platforms work. Sometimes people follow out of curiosity, shared interests or simply because they’ve come across your posts over time.To me, it feels more like people casually keeping up with profiles or conversations they find interesting rather than anything weird or intrusive. liubit and + Charlie 2
Nightowl Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I don’t know that having followers or being followed really does anything, good or bad. I follow a few people but never get notified of their posts and I suspect they’re never notified of mine. + Charlie and Nue2thegame 1 1
ShortCutie7 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 All internet message boards have more readers/“lurkers” than active posters… I wouldn’t think anything of it. + Charlie and + azdr0710 2
wsc Posted May 27 Posted May 27 If I feel I'm being followed, I cross the street. But that's just me; I'm naturally suspicious of anyone who finds me interesting. BigDMike, ericwinters and thomas 1 2
