Looking to switch gyms soon. I don’t want to pay for equinox really but I couldn’t I had to. Crunch? YMCA? What is your favorite gym? Steam and sauna and a little cruising is always good

A lot of gay escorts, bodybuilders, fitness freaks, and internet influencers work out at the Temple Gym in Hells Kitchen. It's very cruisy. It's probably the crusiest (is that even a word?) of all of the Manhattan Temple gyms. It has a sauna, steam room, and pool.
Despite it's name, it is non-denominational.

Worth taking a look. Maybe too much for me there lol. As I’m into daddies and bears. But there is one not far away

Indeed a lot of eye candy at Temple Hells Kitchen but sadly the steam and sauna are outside the locker room by the pool and are co-ed. Sauna at Astor Place Temple can get frisky on occasion. And the Temple Spa in Midtown East is really nice, but again, co-ed.

I switched to Lifetime because it’s free with my AARP Medicare. Nothing happens at any of their clubs that I’ve seen. They even post signs discouraging nudity in the sauna and steam.

NYSC on Broadway at 94th has both a sauna and a steam room, and I've heard, but can't confirm from personal experience, is quite active.

Nyc's best gym saunas and steam rooms are gone. The brand died during Covid. It was the best kept secret in NYC. I would venture to guess it had the highest ratio of bi and married guys of any gym in the city. All branches had their own little secrets, but certain locations were legendary. There were times when one might think they were part of a gay orgy porn movie from the late 70's. It was truly something. I think some stories can still be found at CruisingForSex, although I'm not sure the site still exists.

You have to keep your wits about you.

Which is very difficult to do if you are horny, and in the company of hot, naked men. I would Google "sex in an Equinox gym steam room" before attempting to use their facility for sex. I know horny guys don't like to hear this, but their management seems to enjoy torture. They are known for bringing in law enforcement when someone is caught.

Crunch on West 38th has a dry sauna that can get very cruisey. But I think the management started to notice a bit because they recently installed a light in the sauna to keep it bright.

There's also the UES Crunch on E81st(?) That has a steam room, but it's predominantly straight.

Like with anything else, exercise with precaution.

So right! Some wild pre-Covid action in the NYSC Irving Place steam and sauna.
