It seems that regulation could reduce sex trafficking, spread of STD’s, and underworld influence as well as adding a few dollars to the tax coffers. I agree, yes. Sex is not viewed by many as anything healthy, leave alone making it legal to sell it. Unfortunately, this is where we are in the United States. I also don't believe for a second that the raid has anything to do with fighting illegal activity. Peter Eater and Andysquestions 1 1

Unonymous30xxx Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I agree with most of the comments, but I will say this. I have seen providers who I have been worried were part of trafficking or abuse in these spas. I hope they get the help they need, wish it didn't ruin it for the rest of us. pubic_assistance 1

JohnJackNYC Posted May 25 Posted May 25 The raids are based on civil reports, so, most likely, these two spas and all the other spas visited by police and raided were because some “unanonymous” tip/report came from an unsatisfied customer expecting hand jobs or blowies to be free or given for $20. Peter Eater Posted May 25 Posted May 25 The story is suspicious (it is the Post, after all), and not just because it uses the word “masseuse.” I don’t believe this: “…allegedly offered undercover cops sex acts for less than $100 — including some specific acts as an la carte option — following their massages earlier this year…” Following their massages? Like, the cop had a massage, then got the offer? Or the offer was being made upfront during the massage booking, that a happy ending was possible for extra following the massage? Neither one is plausible. And poor reporting is a Post specialty, so who knows what actually went down with the, uh, masseuse.

There was a spa in LA where someone on this chat board suggested the therapists could possibly be trafficked. However each of the therapists at the spa have a massage license. Cooper Posted May 26 Author Posted May 26 When HERO Spa was raided it reopened after 2 weeks. The undercover cops were only checking the masseurs’ licenses. Apparently, you don’t need a license if you only offer “body rubs/works”. (That’s what I was told but it might have changed). As a result the owner had to pay a fine and they were back in business. Unlike this recent raid, no illegal services were reported and the customers there during the raid were just told to get dressed and leave. Yes, I was there at the time and overheard there was an anonymous call made to the NYPD. The manager believed it was one of his competitors who made the call. Tactile Daddy 1
