Rod Hagen Posted May 23 Posted May 23 (edited) It is a fun movie. If you are inclined to see it, I would suggest seeing it in the Theater. It's a BIG active movie, and the music is fantastic. Who knew you could meld Irish Folk music with good Hip Hop beautifully? The Irish Folk Singer villain is super hot. It's well-made. I think you'll enjoy your night out. + BenjaminNicholas Posted May 23 Posted May 23 The DP in this film did an incredible job. Some really intelligent, creative shots. Rod Hagen 1
Manhattan Posted May 30 Posted May 30 A very entertaining movie with good performances. Don't look too deeply into the script and its meaning and you'll enjoy it. The director overworks metaphors and symbolism and loses the thread, but it's still fun. Rod Hagen and thomas 1 1
SirBillybob Posted June 26 Posted June 26 (edited) If you want to avoid the top Apple rental rate, Sinners début on Max and on Crave (Canada) is July 4th. Edited June 26 by SirBillybob
d.anders Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I saw this last night, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I found the first half dragged a bit, and the second half too silly. I didn't quite understand the ending, or the premise of the story, other than that blues music attracts vampires? Not sure. I had a difficult time telling the 2 Moore brothers apart. I don't know why Michael B. Jordan had to play both parts. I wasn't sure if this was a comedy or a horror film. I didn't laugh, and I wasn't scared. I'm not sure what all the media hype is about. I can't say I loved it. Rod Hagen 1
SirBillybob Posted July 6 Posted July 6 (edited) Buddy Guy playing Travelin’ at the end many decades later was a treat. I’m glad I didn’t pay rental and I used closed caption as is typically required to make out what people say … yell … in action sequences, but I enjoyed the film. I knew it was going to be a genre mashup. I’d fuck a twin smokestack before a Cullen. Not that many miles away in the same year 1932 as the Mississippi Delta setting commenced the outrageous Tuskegee Alabama Syphilis Experiment. Edited July 6 by SirBillybob Rod Hagen 1
d.anders Posted July 8 Posted July 8 This film has so much Oscar buzz for next year. I just have to scratch my head and wonder why. Rod Hagen and thomas 1 1

I thought the movie was dumb and fun, shot beautifully, scored beautifully, and worth my time, but no not an Oscar movie. Or, at least, it wouldn't have been a contender 15 years ago. Nowadays, different game I guess. + sf westcoaster and thomas 1 1
