Ali Gator Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I got a text from one of my favorite traveling masseurs (though he never gives me a massage - it's hot sex from start to finish at massage pricing) saying he will be in my city on Easter Sunday. Hmmm. I'm busy all day with family stuff I'm looking forward to. I thought maybe I can see him late morning early afternoon (some free time in my schedule). He can't do it -check-in at his hotel is 2 pm. He wants to use the 'hotel gym' and grab something to eat before he sees his clients, so he's thinking 3:30 will be the earliest. I told him I had Easter dinner plans at 4 which will last into the evening (he didn't realize it was Easter Sunday, though last time I saw him around Christmas, he told me he was a practicing Latino Catholic and had to make it home to Florida before Christmas Eve). I asked him what his schedule was like on Monday, as I'm working a half day and should be out of work around 1 pm. He told me he's leaving at 11 am, check-out time. Hmmm. I'm curious - do these providers realize that being anywhere for less than 24 hours isn't client-friendly ? Do they consider giving everyone a short window of time doesn't fit into everyone's schedule - especially when half of their trip is on a family Holiday* ? What could possibly be the harm in adding an extra night so you could accommodate more guys ? I know for a fact (he told me before) he gets incredible deals at the hotel he stays in, so my appointment alone can pay for two nights. Do providers ever think this through ? *Family holidays to me is when families and/or friends gather for the occasion: Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve / Christmas Day and even July 4th BBQs. + ButchAtl 1
Ali Gator Posted April 20 Author Posted April 20 I guess this provider couldn't pre-book anyone for Easter Sunday afternoon / night as his ad is no longer running in my town. But a new traveler has posted an ad - for the exact same time-frame, which is odd.
italianboyph Posted April 20 Posted April 20 (edited) Completely agree, it's last minute, a holiday, and most people are usually busy. That being said, I've traveled places where I ended up there for the night last min, and have advertised. I also completely understand that planning is easier vs last min, but then again I've been booked last min in circumstances like that as well. I tend to like to stay anywhere I travel for few days to try to accommodate. 😀😀 Edited April 20 by italianboyph MikeBiDude and Ali Gator 2
Simon Suraci Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Sometimes I intentionally only stay one night in a stopover city on a holiday or otherwise potentially slow time to make use of a convenient travel stop between two cities I’m staying in longer. Like 4th of July I almost always plan as a travel day between two major cities (like Houston and Dallas) and don’t expect anyone to book the evening of the holiday, but sometimes they do last minute and it’s a bonus that basically just pays for that otherwise wasted hotel night fee, maybe a bit more depending on what they book. Las Vegas, for example in May I am only staying one night and purchased a late checkout to accommodate clients. It’s not on a holiday but I’m breaking up my time on the road between Salt Lake City and San Diego. If clients book, all the better but really it’s a convenient rest for me at a hotel I like for a very affordable rate. I already have people booked and more interested, but really I would be happy not having any clients at all because the stop is convenient for me and it’s the last on my way home. A quiet dip in the pool with a cocktail would be the perfect celebration to punctuate a long road trip. Sometimes I book a single night not expecting anyone whatsoever, for example in a small nowhere town off the highway in Wyoming in May to break up my road trip to rest between Denver and Salt Lake City. I would be shocked if I worked that night but hey if the business comes, I’ll take it. Some cities we are booking multiple nights expecting to work. Others, not so much. That could be what is happening when you run across a one night wonder like him. MikeBiDude, + Pensant and + Vegas_Millennial 3
Ali Gator Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 The second guy who posted his ad in my town late this morning took it down by early afternoon. Another one bites the dust.
+ Pensant Posted April 21 Posted April 21 This is an increasingly common phenomenon. Lots of one-night visitors who respond when they’re in their next city. Yukon21 and BrooklynIrish 1 1
jackcali Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Yesterday, I was about to reach out to a traveling escort I was hoping to see today and found that he'd already changed cities, meaning he was in NYC for less than 48 hours. His travels are his travels and I'm sure he had his reasons for them, though I would think that NY is a GREAT market for traveling escorts. What I don't understand why so many escorts don't use the RM function to show travel plans. If I knew he was leaving yesterday or if I knew he was coming to NY before he got her), I might have accelerated my plans to see him. RM should give their escorts an online class about how to market themselves and manage their business. Not everyone is a natural. + DrownedBoy, Ali Gator and + ButchAtl 3
Ali Gator Posted April 22 Author Posted April 22 What is most annoying is when they travel to my city and mark it as 'home'. It's hard to differentiate whether they actually relocated and live here now, or if they're here for a few hours and will be moving on. If they have not rooted themselves here, why not just list it as a travel city and for how long they'll be here ? + DrownedBoy, Saabster, + ButchAtl and 2 others 3 2
viewing ownly Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) A side point you make in your post, and it's a real good one, is holidays getting in the way of an appointment. I had an appointment on Mother's Day several years ago with an escort, not thinking it would be a problem. It was - with the escort's mother! He ended up being very late, assuming I wasn't going to be on time because of my lengthy commute. He went out to brunch with her. I had to drastically shorten the session from 90 minutes to 30, which then made it rushed because I had somewhere else to be at a certain time (a nudist resort with closing hours). Becket Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Holidays are a problem. One traveling fellow I really wanted to see came this past weekend. Which would have been great except it was Easter weekend and I had too much going on. I'm sick about it but I couldn't figure out a time. Sigh! O well.
Ali Gator Posted April 27 Author Posted April 27 The original guy who posted in my city for Easter weekend (and then ghosted) posted yesterday and said he'd be in town through Monday. I checked today, and he's already gone. WTF ?
ChipHolder Posted April 27 Posted April 27 One thing to add…hotel prices. I’m based in NYC, and looking at recent hotel prices, they are significantly higher than I’d seen before. It may be that I haven’t looked in a while; but I could see paying for more than one night adding up to a challenging amount.
Ali Gator Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 This sheds a new light on things... I finally met up with a new traveler I've had my eye on since last summer. Our schedules never seemed to mesh because he'd post here as 'home' then be gone in 24 hours. Finally met the other night. I asked him about how he changes travel plans so quickly and last minute. Turns out he's doing this as a 'side gig' and has a regular job on the east coast in finance. He travels a lot for his job - working in different locations in the company as he's needed. He does massage /escort on 'nights' and 'free time during the day' in the cities he's visiting. His company will send him to a city (say, 'Dallas') and tell him his assignment is for the next five days - so they book his hotel for those five days (say Mon-Fri). He puts his ad up in Dallas as 'home', and will book just a day in advance, because on Tuesday morning they may call him and tell him they need him in Atlanta on Wednesday, so they're flying him there on Tuesday night. So what was originally a five-day stay in Dallas, turns out to be 24 hours instead (which happened in my city a few times). Sometimes, they will extend his stay as well - and in the extended stay, he may only work in the morning and head back to his hotel in the afternoon - so he can book appointments in that afternoon (or book in the morning and work in the office in the afternoon). He's young (late 20s) and enjoys doing this (so he says) as he sees all parts of the country (mostly east of the Mississippi). So in a sense, his company has control over our appointments with him. 56harrisond and + Vegas_Millennial 2

My two cents: I think that they do and they don't. My guess is that they have to be in that city for some reason and they figure that while they are there, they might make some money. Looks to me that the primary purpose of the visit to that city might not be his work. He might want to make a quick buck while he has to be there. At least that's what I think makes sense for him to try to schedule a client that way. I think about me as a client, in instances when I have found myself with nothing to do for one night in a foreign city (waiting for a next day flight, at a conference, or similar situations), and I try to find something (or someone) to do. I reach out and sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. Just my thoughts. Edited May 3 by soloyo215 MikeBiDude and Johnrom 2
