I've watched this with interest and don't really post. I've met the guy twice, the first obviously went well. The 2nd time was a horrendous experience and I believe DC Guy totally. Don't be blinded by looks guys, volatile behaviour and the wording and mannor of his texts made me cancel all contact with him. I'm ex military and I didn't trust myself to meet him again. Anyways this forum is here so we can make good balanced judgements guys. Good luck and please don't stress Mr DC

I’ve hired him 2x for an hour - our time was longer - I’d def do it again based on my experience

I say this as someone who has encountered bad faith escorts along the way

Ditto...to both.  I enjoyed my time with him so I have to wonder if/why he's gone over to the dark side with the scammers (if indeed he has).

So much for giving grace.  Instead of making a phone call, he changes his name like every other scammer.

Checked with him and he mentioned, he has not challenged the appeal so you are bound to get your money back. He provided a screen shot (attaching here). Asked on changing the name and he did so because he was losing business while this issue drags on. Desperation got him there as many guys who just take a cursory look at this thread choose to block him. Again, I believe the lack of communication is causing unnecessary damage both sides. The more we add to this thread the worse it will get. That is why I had requested if we can put a hold to it.

Trust me, if I posted our whole convo and Venmo communications, you guys would see he was working me hard.  Out of privacy concerns for both of us, I won’t do that, but I will double down and say he was definitely trying to keep money for nothing and get more outta me.  So to save the moderator the need to merge threads, I will say

SCAMMER ALERT TURBOOK

Why would I trust you

I don’t know you and I’ve never met you

frankly I’ve not seen evidence that your claim is valid

yet you keep acting as such

I also 100% believe you DC. I think you should post the screenshots you showed me. Turbook, Gringo, or whatever he charges his name to next is a scammer and clearly doesn’t appreciate your restraint.  Shut his ass down!

Don’t do it DC. Keep doing what you’re doing. Warn people (that’s what this place is for), keep Turbook honest by continuing to bump the thread until you get your money back, and cost him enough business that he thinks twice about pulling this scam again, but don’t escalate it more than that unless he continues to put up a fight. Sounds like he is a good escort who made a “poor” choice. If he fixes it and it doesn’t look like a pattern, let it go and let him move on.  We got the info, you got your money, and he got the message.

Once it is fixed, please let this forum know.

I have to disagree. This platform isn’t meant for tearing people down or seeking revenge. In my opinion it’s a space for sharing experiences and useful information, whether positive or negative. In this case, it’s about a bad experience. Let’s keep things classy and informative so that others can benefit from the discussion.

Agree with you

Tbh I think it speaks volumes that there’s so much head nodding here

@DavidNY agreed, thank you for your advice (and example) on this issue, I think that’s the right approach.  I said since the beginning that I’d update you guys when this was resolved…it’s still not.  I got more pissed when he not only didn’t make any effort, but actually accused ME of running the scam among some other all out completely false statements.  But no, not fixed yet.  Here’s the dates of the disputes so u guys can get the timeline of when it should get resolved.  You can see that he sent me the deposit refund on 1/22, then immediately opened a dispute (also on 1/22).  He got it refunded on Feb 3rd at which point my Venmo account goes into default. I discover he reneges the deposit refund on Feb 9, and open a dispute on the original amount, which as of this morning, is still pending.  The only one who comes out on top is Venmo….i get to pay 12 bucks for the privilege of getting my money back.

For sure!  Thanks to @DC Guy 92 for not quietly taking the loss, and instead sharing his useful experience here.

(I don't need weeks of cash app headaches, dodgy non-refundable "deposits," or to be hit up for someone's private travel. Grateful to learn a lesson from another's bad experience.)

Sometimes is not just about the money.

It’s an unregulated business… like let’s say you want to rent an apartment you saw on Craigslist… the poster asks you for a deposit… what would you do…?

I've always stayed away from CL but some folks on here still remember the personals fondly....

I wouldn't send a deposit to the "renter".

I would not send anyone money unless is a regulated business and under a written contract. Period. It’s not rocket science. And not a hard think to tell to a provider. We all have two heads… we all should think with the one above the neck… but that’s MY opinion.
