I wish technology was so advanced that my consciousness could give my body a eulogy.

Wouldn't it be delicious to have the person who hates you the most do it so he/she is forced to stand up in front of people and say nice things about you?

Or better still, tell the truth!

Maybe it already is. A friend of mine died a couple of weeks ago, and yesterday I received a phone call from her mobile phone.

Good thing it was her cell phone. In the olden days, the long-distance charges for that call would have been out of this world. Literally!

You don’t always hear the truth spoken at a eulogy. Several years ago I was one of four people to give a eulogy at the funeral of a popular politician who was a cousin of mine. One of his political rivals also gave a eulogy which contained a big fat lie.
I knew it was a lie because my cousin had told me the real story and his version was more credible to me than what I heard in the church.
However the person was not struck down by a bolt of lightning at the pulpit so who knows!

Isn’t that strange. A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine died and I am her executor. Yesterday I picked up her phone a landline and there was a message on it from me. Also 11 other messages that she had received while in the hospital where she died. I got her cellphone which had been at the hospital when she died and there I saw just a few messages on it.

I have received several calls from her phone, but no messages. This afternoon I got another one, and as I suspected, it was her husband, who had her phone but couldn't figure out how it worked until now. The email from my spouse, of course, was from a not very intelligent spammer. But it does make me think that one could record his own eulogy, and use existing tech to make it available for his own funeral.
