Montreal 4th and final report: Daddy's Corner

Daddy's Corner at Campus doesn't seem to work. 

It opens at 3 pm; I went at 6, hoping that later means more. 

The "corner" is a smaller bar, to the right of the stage and the main bar. There were 5 patrons sitting with their drinks: 3 solitary, 2 talking with a shirtless dancer. The barman was also shirtless. 

Per my question, one of the patrons repeated the concept on the website, but added that nothing is going on and left. I then talked with the barman. He said they intend to put in a curtain to make the space more intimate (smart). When I asked about dancers, he explained that 2 others were going in and out on errands, because "things were slow". Since the only dancer there didn't appeal to me, after 5 minutes I left. 

Newbie that I m, I humbly submit this concept probably won't work. Dancers won't come for 5-10 patrons instead of 50. Patrons won't come if there r only 1-3 dancers to choose from. Without the show in the background, u can come, sit with a drink for 10 minutes, take the only dancer for 2-3 lap dances, and then return to a rather "too tranquil" (the leaving patron defined it) setting.

That's disappointing but I'm nor surprised.   I was looking forward to it as I don't go out late very often and the earlier time is better for me.

Stock and Campus r very much alive, as I had reported.

I gather from old timers that relative to back then, the village is dead or dying. 

However, these 2 strip bars r delivering.

I can't think of any time when a dancer bar would be even remotely busy in the late afternoon or very early evening except if there is a day event like the Pride march, a street fair, or maybe the Sunday T-dance.   Even in Montreal's heyday or any other city with an active gay scene, I don't think bars would be hopping busy at that time.  I would also think Montreal gets much more busy after US Memorial Day.  Do they still close St Catherine street to auto traffic in the summer?

The Gaiety was packed at 1:15 in the afternoon back in the day in NYC. There is a market for afternoon strippers. Especially i believe in NY. I get emails every week about doing a early night for the Older guys and afterwork gents. The problem is finding dancers to come in at 3pm.

Yes St Catherine Street will be closed to auto traffic this summer.  Last year they had no overhead decorations which I missed a lot.  I'm hoping that will change this year.

Good point.  I've been going to Montreal for many years,  We would usually go to Campus around 7 PM for a pre dinner drink and while the number of dancers  varied from year to year it was always slow even at that hour.

I had a condo pied a terre in the heart of the Village from 1998 to 2010. The scene there was at its apogee during that time. The whole place rocked, particularly during the tourist season and was arguably the best gay scene in North America. 

A lot has changed for various reasons, the Internet being a major factor and social media. I still go to Montreal if not every month then every two months. I hardly ever go to the Village except maybe for lunch to take in the street scene. It's still very gay.

But I gravitated to escorts who I find on RM for evening entertainment. Strippers don't do it for me any longer. I like the closer physical contact in a comfortable bed and real sex rather than groping and furtive sucking. 

And Covid did it for me in terms of  too crowded places with God knows who is sitting beside you.

I remember with Luv2Play.  There was a time, 1998-2010, when Campus had lots of twinks and twunks and good crowds from 4:00-9:00 when the big boys arrived.  Non-stop dancers, no music fillers.  Some boys danced at Campus first and then appeared later at Taboo.  Taboo in those days had 25-40 beautiful twinks and twunks, fully nude, every night of the week, no exception.  Not pseudo-nude like Stock, but real.  One or two fem boys, but almost all really nice.  No tattoos, no long hair, no body hair.  They came from all over Canada and France.  I remember beautiful boys from Paris and Mulhouse and Tours and Nancy.  And they really danced; they practiced at home and had routines.  Not like the Stock-shuffle.  There were even twins for a while.  Some danced to Piaf; Diego was very cute and danced to Brazilian music; they chose their music.  Lap dances were not particularly private, but they were a lot of fun and at $10, you couldn't go wrong.  At 10:00 p.m. on Saturdays, they introduced all the boys by name on stage, and then they each got one of the little circus platforms and spread out through the room and danced;  you had gyrating nude boys all over the place.

OMG I remember very fondly those years as well.  It's been a long time but I remember particularly Pierre-Luc and Francis.  Time marches on and things change but they were good times.

During those years my favorite place was Campus but for variery I went to the others some times and enjoyed myself. In 2003 my father died and I came into some money. Boy did some of that ever get spent crazily. Fortunately there was a lot of opportunity.😜

I think it does. Strip clubs are dead on weekdays, even more so during the day. Weekends might be a different story.

Not true in Ft Lauderdale with Johnsons, which is busy on Wed and Thursdays.  Granted, not as busy as weekends, but still busy especially later in the evening.  I would surmise that Montreal's clubs would be busy on Thursday especially in the summer.

When I wrote "it doesnt matter", I was referring to my main point: 3-7 pm there won't b more than 1-3 stripdancers, no matter which day.

Wow, Stockbar lineup on Thursday night was really strong. There were no unqualified dancers on stage last night. New management must have gone on a massive cleaned house purge. All stunning muscle studs on stage, and no unqualified dancers made it to the stage last night. Even I was taken back by the sheer number of good looking muscle studs on stage. My baby Gutaso (favorite dancer) looked absolutely stunning on stage.  He kept flexing, and showing off his sexy nipples to the camera. Oh man,  I would love to feast on his nipples. My trip to Montreal can't come fast enough. Counting the days now! Well done Stockbar new management team, the show was extremely hot and sexy last night.

Anyways, all the other dancers looked really great. Congrats to new Stockbar management team for working diligently in  getting things back on track.Yes guys, Stockbar is now back. I'm now starting to feel Stockbar glory days, when I was watching the live show last night. I'm not sure what happened, but all unqualified dancers are now gone. I"m sure they weren't making a lot of cash, so maybe they realized that stripping is not in their cards, and went on to find regular jobs. Or maybe it was a clean house purge, whatever the case, all unqualified dancers are now gone. I still can't believe some guys can look in the mirror and still think they can be a dancer at one of the world's top stripping venue. Putting patrons in a bad spot of having to be the bad guy, telling management they don't belong on stage. Oh well, at least it's over now.

How about Campus? What's going there? I can't find  any info about recent dancers at Campus. I just know my go to dancer at Campus Sam aka Sexyfrenchcanadian  dances there once in while. I checked out the website, a lot of the dancers on the site are no longer dancing there. They need to update the site.Malik doesn't dance there anymore, but his picture is all over the site. I heard it was voted the best strip club in Montreal in 2022. So, things must have really gotten better for Campus to overtake Stockbar in 2022.  Is worth splitting my 4 days trip to Montreal between Campus and Stockbar?  Any pics of the hot dancers at Campus beside Sam and Malik? Any info about current dancers at Campus would be greatly appreciated.

Agree 💯.  When I'm in Montreal, it's not uncommon for me to patronize Campus, Stock, Taboo, plus other bars on St Catherine's on the same night.  I never knew to keep paid entrance verification to come back the same night, so I'll keep that in mind for my next trip.

Campus has good options. Many attendees’ current favourites as far as physical appeal are there. The mix is more polarized, some that would do extremely well at Stock but are not in a position to have their nudity streamed internationally, others that would fall into some assessors’ subjective ‘unqualified’ category.

So some of these dancers negotiate to stay on the down low regarding public exposure via ad or media photos etc. They may have such sway because the bar does not want to turn away hot dancers for stage and customer draw, or the performers are “loyal” and/or agree to additionally work on at least one slow weeknight.

That is a good point you made about streaming to the WWw. It hadn't occurred to me before, but it can indeed be a limitation for certain performers. There are plenty of hot boys out there, including three of my favorites from Campus that can perfectly be a Stock Bar boy who have never been featured or connected to the club were they danced. I don't judge them for it; they simply do what needs to be done. They have all been very  nice and checked all my boxes. 😝

I  always visit all the stripclubs when I'm in town, although Taboo doesn't have the type of performers I prefer anymore. Still, I go there and have at least one drink. If you're into femme twinks, Taboo might be worth checking out.

As for Expose, it hasn't really impressed me in the past. The last time I visited, the staff wasn't rude, but they weren't particularly (rude) friendly either. In Montreal, people generally aren't rude, so it was a bit of a letdown. Then I head back to Stock/Campus to continue my night 😉. 
If you're into Québécois boys, Campus is thriving, I absolutely love it there, at least for now.  Everything is relative and change , if not ask Stock Bar curva 1999/2000

As for Stock Bar, I hope they diversify their lineup. I don't mean they should get rid of the boys who have been there for a while, but it would be nice to see some fresh faces and perhaps even bring in guest performers.

I'll be checking out both places on the same night, because I need  to stop by both places to say hi to my boys (Gatuso Stockbar and Sam Campus). I'm also very curios about the dancer lineup at Campus. Last time I was there, there were quiet a few stunning dancers from out of town that were dancing on stage. I ended up doing a muscle worship with one of them (Sam was not there that night). A tall muscular beautiful blue eyes, blond hair stud from Toronto. I wish I still had his contact info. Hopefully, there are still a lot of hot dancers at Campus in 2023. I know it won an award for the best strip club in Montreal in 2022. Well my trip to Montreal is coming up soon, so will see If Campus is still the best strip club on Saint Catherine Street in 2023. As for Stockbar, I already know that I will have a blast there, because I already know what what I want, and it's (Katuso, Bran, Adrian). It's going to be a fun 4 days vacation trip to Montreal.

I may go check out Taboo in one night, although, I'm not a fan of fem twinks, I'm only into muscular guys. I'm a bit curious about the place. I may just stop by for a drink, and check out the scene and the dancers. If I see something that I like, then maybe I will stay for a few more drinks.
