Private dances at Wet Dreams are now 600 Pesos (formerly 500 Pesos), which is about $30 USD for about 8 minutes (I didn't get an exact time, but it was more than 5 minutes and less than 10 minutes)

I don't mind if I'm "judged".  But I do mind paying needlessly extra when I don't need to.  Businesses and strippers in Puerto Vallarta will accept US or Canadian dollars, but you'll pay at least 20% more for the privilege.  It's so easy to withdraw Pesos from the ATM using a debit card that has no foreign transaction fees, that it just doesn't make good financial sense to pay in US or Canadian Dollars.

About half the speakers speak fluent English, about half speak broken English limited to "Where you from" and "ready for Private?", and maybe 1 in 10 speak Spanish only.  It's actually a lot more English speakers than a typical southern California business, for example. 

Tip:  Mexicans don't use "Top" or "Bottom" to describe sexual preferences, even when speaking English.  They use "Active" ("Activo") or "Passive" ("Pasivo").  At a strip club, knowing how to say Activo and Passivo is the best Spanish that can help you have a good time 😉

Excellent information, @Minneapolis and @Vegas_Millennial. I’ve never been to PVR before and am spending the week here. I found your posts very helpful and wanted to pay it forward.

Timing: Make sure to include Friday and Saturday on your trip. My trip was from Sunday to the next Saturday, which was a mistake. The more flavorful activities are mostly on those days, including naked beach cruises, burlesque cabaret shows etc.

ATM: Some ATMs on the streets only have U.S. dollars. Avoid those.

Cellular: AT&T roams on AT&T MX here at 4G speed. So I bought a Telcel SIM card at Oxxo to complement that. The clerk doesn’t understand “SIM card”; they call it “telcel chip”. Make sure to purchase a data plan, otherwise the balance gets depleted rather quickly. I got the Amigo Sin Limite plan. Neither AT&T MX nor Telcel worked great for me on busy streets.

Massage: The take-your-chance massage parlors are mostly on or next to Basilio Badillo. I don’t know what the street name means in Spanish but I call it the “baddies” street for my extracurricular activities.

Strip Club: Wet Dream has best interior but I like the guys at 69 better. However, there seem to be more frequent customers at 69. The guys know them well and might ignore you. I had to approach with a guy with tip to get conversation going. I checked out B-Mine (previously “Pervert” lol) at 10 PM, and that’s way too early. The guys all gathered together having supper, lol. No one there is my type so I left. They have a glass shower stand on top of the staircase, and you can look up. I thought that was cute and might check out the place again.

Interesting, this corroborates my recent experience. During my first visit, I couldn't take more than five steps without being asked for a tip. I had the opposite experience most recently. It was much more enjoyable.

I was in PV for new year's week. The go-go boys were all Spanish-speaking. Some knew a little English. I had to use my phone's translate app to talk at times, which was not too bad. Also, most of the go-go boys are from other South American countries (eg, Colombian, Peru, Argentina, etc.).  The one I went to was Club 69.

Always pesos. Whomever you tip has to exchange those dollars and gets less. Some banks don't like taking $1 bills either.

Tonight I popped into Wet Dreams.  It was much more enjoyable to me tonight (a Tuesday) when there are fewer customers than when I popped in on Saturday. 

The highlight was the parade of gorgeous men taking turns in the shower 🚿.  Edwin remembered me from my visit last year, and came over and welcomed me and made me feel wonderful throughout the night. 

I had 2 private dances. The house charges 600 pesos ($33 US) for 10 minutes in a private room.  My 2 dances were very fun, but newbies just be warned to negotiate a price before hand.  I gave my 2 dancers  more than I usually do, because they were really good and that is on par what I might pay for similar time/action with a dancer in the US.  However, I am in Mexico so I'm sure I could have come to a price half that amount had I negotiated before going back to the booth, especially on a slow Tuesday night. 

The shower shows were the highlight and the reason I will go back later this week.

You can read in other PV threads, I now bring plenty of $1 and $5. I used to bring large bills and change everything to pesos but I asked a number of the guys and they universally said something to the effect of money is money.  Personally, this past trip I chose to keep it in USD as $1 is less than ₽20 so it was just easier.  Some guys, if you end up doing more than just tipping, accept elctronic forms of payment so they end up going through a conversion rate there anyway. 

I would say, just enjoy yourself and make sure the dancers are making money for their evening of entertaining you!
