What's your favorite recipe that is so easy & simple that anyone can pull it off?  Yes, one that even your friend who doesn't know how to boil water could make.

Mine is ginataang mais, Filipino rice pudding with sweet corn.

ATK Test Cook Lan Lam makes Lumpiang Shanghai with Seasoned Vinegar.

On the recent episode of "How to Get Away with Murder" we got to see Oliver and Conrad's moms. And Olivers's mom made lumpia.

My neighbor is from the Manila. A couple times of year, she will occasionally knock on my door with a plate of these, and a bit of sweet and sour sauce in a small container. I never asked her what they were called, just enjoyed them. They're very good.

it's simple and pedestrian, but when I bring pigs in blankets to a party (cocktail wieners wrapped in crescent roll dough) they're always the first thing finished. I have a cool retro dish from my mother for different types of mustard for dipping.

My fave No-Fail "bring an appetizer" - I bring good quality corn chips with this Hot Artichoke Dip

1 can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped. Non-marinated variety. (Frozen ok, thawed and drained)

I cup mayo, full-fat

1 cup grated Parm or Romano

Garlic powder to taste (1/2 tsp good place to start. Ground black pepper to taste. (Cheese salty enough) Mix in oven safe dish, bake 30m 350° till bubbly and lightly browned. I travel it short distances in an insulated container.

Alt: add an inexpensive can of crab meat to it if you want it richer.
