samhexum
They're falling to the ground from above in the Bronx. Disturbing video shows a naked man dangling by one arm from an elevated 6 train station at Westchester and Metropolitan avenues in the Bronx as onlookers give a play-by-play. “Look at this dude … Holy f–king. Homie acting a fool,” the videographer can be heard saying as he looks up at the man from a Parkchester street. The man, kicking his legs, holds on to the outside edge of the southbound tracks as a train slowly approaches, stops and then keeps going. About 30 seconds into the video, the man lets go and drops some 20 feet to the pavement. A teenager holding a basketball and walking under the station looks startled and runs by the naked man on the ground. The naked man dangled briefly from the elevated track. After the fall, the man was conscious and not obviously bleeding. The man was eventually taken to Jacobi Hospital. https://nypost.com/2022/12/31/shocking-scene-at-bronx-station-as-naked-man-falls/ Edited January 1, 2023 by samhexum just for the hell of it pubic_assistance, + jeezopete and Luv2play 1 1

pubic_assistance
NYC is still covered in mentally ill psychos. Most were living in jails for minor offenses but during Covid they released hundreds of them. It's a humanitarian disaster. These people should be in mental institutions..but the law says they're free to live their life except when they are living out a prison sentence. + augustus

CuriousByNature
A number of years ago I lived in Vancouver, and there was a large psychiatric facility in one of the suburbs. It had operated for many decades, and then for some reason it was shut down. The patients were turned out onto the streets, and for the majority, could only find affordable living options in the least desirable areas of the east side of downtown. Others became homeless and also ended up in that area, where crime and drug abuse has been rampant for a very long time. So those who were most vulnerable were put in positions where they could easily be taken advantage of, become addicted to narcotics, and live in poverty and insecurity. It disgusted me to see people treated that way, and a number of years later I heard that in advance of the 2010 Olympics, authorities were picking up homeless people from the downtown core and driving them out to distant suburbs and dropping them off there. Just so that the tourists, athletes and media would not see the homeless problem that has been a fixture in Vancouver for many years. Shockingly disturbing. + nycman

I wonder if this man was a patient who eloped from the hospital only to find himself hanging around the train station.

Yes, that's why people who are so seriously mentally ill that they can't take care of themselves need society's protection.
