How to Use Viagra

Doe Be Doe

Recommended Posts

I take it about a half hour before I want to get hard but I do find that while it helps I do not get rock hard.  Oddly, I sometimes find that I wake up the next day with a boner.  My doctor says to take it on an empty stomach which I do.

Me too - It lasts well into the next day.

First viagra is now most commonly sold as Sildenafil, the generic.  It is available in 20 mg 50 mg and 100 mg.  If you are using it to just boost an erection from moderately hard to rick hard, I would start with the 20 mg and then work up as tolerated.  If you have eaten, especially a greasy meal, the absorption is delayed.  So it is best taken on an empty stomach.  It can take from 30 minutes to 4 hours to kick in and can last from 2 hours to 16 hours.   With that kind of variability, you will need to experiment around and see how it works for you.

The major side effect that is widely joked about is the prolonged erection.  Priapism can be a serious issue.  The erection does no receding and it becomes painful.  After 4 hours there is the possibility of tissue damage and loss of erectile function.  If you find you are having a prolong erection, a warm bath will help bring the erection down.  If it becomes very painful or continues after after orgasm or lasts for more than 4 hours, medical help should be sought out.

This side effect is another reason for starting with a low dose and working your way up.

So, in brief, your results may vary.  80% of men have a good result up to 80% of the time.  So if it does not work the first time, it does not mean it will not work the next time.  For those men who doe not get a reaction, there may be other medical issues at hand.

It can be a a nice addition sometimes, especially when you have a limited time frame in which to get hard and get gone.

If you are having a weekend guest or expected several opportunities in a 2 day period, Cialis is probably the better choice rather than Viagra. though I have used Cialis with a small dose of Viagra on occasion and that has worked very well for me.

I agree with most of what's been said. It's best to take it at least an hour before sex to get the full effect, however. If you're having sex after dinner, I'd take it before dinner, for example. Earlier is better.

I should note that if you are of larger size  - you will need the 100mg . I found that 50 mg doesn’t cut it for me. . My cock runs better at 100mg

In England it’s available over the counter but the pharmacist needs to talk to you first . £5 for 50mg per pill  .  It’s only available at 50mg . This was at Boots in Bayswater - I don’t know if it’s cheaper outside of London . I can’t imagine people in Manc, Bham or Leicester paying a fiver for a blue pill but hey

In the US you can get the higher and lower doses .

I take 30 minutes before sex and I’m ready to rock and roll, often I’m hard enough for at least two rounds . One round doesn’t satisfy me . For the best results taking 2-3 hours before I found suits me best.

I try to avoid taking any poppers for at least a day after . Vers here

Cialis 5 mg.  is approved for BPH as well as ED.  I took 5 mg every day for a long time - had to stop because I started getting postural hypotension from it.  Health insurance covers it if it is coded correctly.

I also take it every day for my BPH. I don't get any extra erection apart from the one I still get by myself (luckily!) when aroused. No side effects.

Hi,

Viagra isn't safe to take every day. If you can I would first try it on your own so you can find out how long it takes to work for you, have fun.

100% this is a good

If I recall there was an issue about taking Viagra and using poppers.  I may have remembered it all wrong so I would definitely research it if you are interested.

I have always read that Viagra and poppers is a very dangerous, life-threatening combination, something to do with lowering blood pressure. Here is something on the issue:

I normally just need a half pill

If you haven’t checked Viagra prices recently, you will find that in the US, after going off patent Viagra (or more precisely generic sildenafil) prices have plummeted. I remember my last on-patent prescription was priced at $65 per 100mg tablet! My most recent refill, at Costco’s pharmacy, using the GoodRX service (app) for a coupon, cost .40 cents per 100mg. I get 90 tabs and am supplied for a good period of time. Always order 100mg tabs as the doses are all priced identically. I can usually get a  satisfactory result with one half of a 100mg tab, but also always carry the other half for a top up if needed!

As for how to take it, I agree with the advice from other replies - an hour prior, on an empty stomach, with a FULL glass of water. If I need food, I make sure to take the viagra well before eating. I’ll have a banana or apple to take the edge off, but never eat anything greasy. I have a low BP normally, so I am strict about not using poppers with it. There are many who take the risk, however foolish.

Cialis lasts much longer in your system. It wasn’t as effective for me as the Viagra, but I do take 5mg a day for BPH. It’s not enough for an erection - for me. So I still use the viagra when sex is about to happen.
