Rentboy and rate charged

I was looking at the new version of Rentmen and among the filters there is one for rates.  So I just put in $200-$250 just to see what would show up.  Now I had recently hired one of the guys that came up in this range, before I saw this, and he asked $300, which I paid.

But my question is if they do not publish rates, how does this filter work, do they collect this information or are they just making it up.  It is also interesting when the escorts advertise on friendboy and other sites and list different rates.

Interesting...

I'm not sure if this fully answers your question but actually in other countries  besides the U.S. Rent.men does publish the rates. My guess is that a few escorts do publish them on their if they have travelled to another country or something. I was in Europe in May and most published their rates right on there. The filter probably gets those that have that rate on there. I just did it in Denver though and it only filtered a handful of guys, one of which had just been on a European trip so I think it might be that.

Yeah, from using Tor, I can see American providers with rates, but those rates are always outdated.

IIRC rates still appear on some versions/devices but they can't be updated (or perhaps even seen by the provider if they aren't using that version) and are as they were when the wider block on US prices was implemented.

When I set up my Rentmen profile back in 2015, I seem to recall there were fields for entering rates. Since that time those fields have disappeared, at least from the settings in my profile logging in within the U.S.

My guess is those rates from all those years ago may still be in there somewhere, and might get picked up in a filtered search even though they are not visible in the profile. It might also explain why a search is picking up lower rate ranges for providers, given they may have been entered by the provider years ago and there is not a way for the provider to change them.
