Randy, the most prolific Sean Cody star of all time, has died at the age of 33, Str8UpGayPorn is sorry to report today. A family member of Randy’s has confirmed with Str8Up that the beloved performer died yesterday in Massachusetts after being hospitalized last week with kidney problems. The exact cause of death is not known at this time, but Randy himself did launch a GoFundMe six days ago asking for help from his hospital bed.

Str8UpGayPorn (caution: site NSFW) was the first to report the performer’s passing. Randy, real name XXX, died on July 9th while in a Massachusetts hospital. While this death was sudden for most, Randy did tell his fans that he had been hospitalized last week. Randy posted to his Instagram account on July 5th a photo of himself in a hospital bed.

Very sad that he passed. So young and seemed like a humble, cool guy. Really sad that so many of these gay porn talents die so young.

I agree. I used to find it startling (as they were so young) but I no longer find it so. The porn industry consumes its young.

Cause and affect is muddled.  To some extent, porn attracts people like Randy who have underlying conditions, and who need to make quick money.  Does porn destroy them, or are do seriously at risk guys gravitate to porn?  Probably both.

I've been trying to wrap my mind around Randy's story.  It's too heartbreaking.

I  felt bad for him after reading the interviews because it appeared his porn acting had cost him regular jobs and he seemed to not really be savvy enough to figure out what to do about it. 53 films is a lot bit over the time he did it's hardly life changing money. He probably could have made a killing just working the Adonis lounge semi-regularly and maybe not found himself in such dire straits.

How does SeanCody work? Do they pay the actor a one-time amount per scene or does the actor also get royalties? 

I saw the gofundme page and he only raised $45 from it. I didn't even know he was on IG.

I don't recall seeing any of his films but that maybe becuz I have seen so many period. Given his pics he would be hard to miss. A top and a bottom and straight. Quite the combo. 

That being said it seems he screwed up somewhere and that is totally sad. His descent to being virtually homeless as he apparently had no place to go if he had been discharged from the hospital is heart breaking. 

Not the first and won't be the last that this happens to, unfortunately.

It is a sad, but unfortunately all too common story. I don’t know that porn targets, but it certainly attracts an awful lot of guys who are, for lack of a better word, broken already in some way. Whether it’s the straight guy who is desperate for the money to meet his responsibilities, the gay guy who seeks validation to fill the emptiness inside, or any guy that needs to feed a habit. Porn is often times their only option.
