Is there any certificate or experience involved to become one? How do you become one? Because escorting is a totally different thing if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance.

Massage therapy license requirements vary by state.

For New York, visit:

The qualifications for both are quite onerous:

Masseur: be of good moral character

Escort: be of sterling moral character

Judge them accordingly! 😉

Pennsylvania like several other states has strict requirements to be trained and licensed. You can ignore those and advertise yourself as a masseur but may find yourself reported, investigated, and fined. How often it happens (getting fined that is) I really don’t know. Probably depends on a disgruntled client making a complaint.

As @Vegas_nw1982 indicated, if you want to advertise as a "licensed massage therapist" or LMT you will need to go through the training and certification process.  But if you just call yourself a "masseur" and don't indicate any licensing, you can probably slide by with just a basic rub.

Just like you can call yourself a "bookkeeper or accountant", but not being licensed as a "certified public accountant".

I have more questions. For example, the happy ending thing. Do masseur have actual some form of sex with their clients? Like masturbation at least?

Some do, some don’t. Licensed massage therapists definitely don’t but guys advertising themselves as ‘sensual or erotic or tantric’ masseurs usually do include some element of sexual activity. It can range from just both people being naked and genital touch to full sex. It depends what, as a masseur, you’re comfortable with.

There’s things to consider regarding the legality of selling sex in some places in the world (unfortunately) but usually this is got around by selling time (anything else happening not being part of the transaction).

If I was you I’d look at adverts for guys providing erotic or sensual massage and book a session with one you like. They’ll be happy to talk to you about how they work. I started like that and got great advice from guys who’d worked in the industry.

I advertise as a sensual masseur and yes I do include sex with my clients if they want that. I know masseurs who don’t go that far. It’s very variable, there’s no set definitions about what’s included so you can decide what you’re happy with and of course the price you can charge will be influenced by what you include (being mindful of the thing I said earlier about charging for time only though if that’s relevant where you are).

Good luck with it! I’d love to hear how you get on.

Happy endings are not a thing if you see a licensed massage therapist.  It's like going to the doctor or dentist. They have a professional code of conduct.

If you find a masseur at a spa or website (like rentmasseur) where most are not licensed then you may be able to get that happy ending if there is chemistry.

Even these non licensed masseurs have limits. In general they don't have sex with clients - for that you should look elsewhere. Perhaps an escort.

I am so ignorant about the topic that I'm embarrassed to keep asking. Any right poster that can guide me? I am interested in becoming one or even hiring one. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what's confusing, but you've already been given all the advice you really need if you want to pursue becoming a masseur.  Get certified in your state if you want to be a certified masseur.  If you just want to do massage and not become certified, hopefully you'll at least get some basic massage training unless you aren't even intending to massage anyone and just focus on the "happy ending" part because one should know a little bit about doing a massage if one is offering that service.  The advice to hire someone advertising on Rentmasseur in your area is a good one, if you haven't done that already.  Hopefully the person you choose will be willing to give you a bit of information about how they operate after you've had a successful appointment with them.
