You think a $500/hour escort 'rack rate' is expensive, how about Adele tix in Vegas?

Although I like some of her previous songs, I would not pay to see her in person with tickets being that exploitatively costly.  I'd rather be helping folks in need.

I would not pay an escort above $300, and I truly don't like that requested fee either unless it's for 1.5 hours.

When I've seen my "go to" man in San Francisco, his initial fee for an hour was $250.  An hour and a half session would equal $375, but because he's given me some marvelous times, I haven't given much thought as to the fee that I've handed to him.

[Years back I would give the escorts a nice-sized envelop containing their fee, I think I'll resume doing this in 2022.]

Ticketmaster hasn't even released pricing or tickets to her shows. It doesn't happen until 12/7.

What you're all grousing about are ticket broker prices for seats they haven't even secured.

Before you piss on a great artist, at least know the actual pricing structure. For those who haven't seen her live, she's an incredible in-person performer.

I saw her last tour in a few places and it was vocally perfect. Her banter with the crowd is also natural and seriously salty.

I have no problem with her charging whatever she thinks will earn her the most money. Obviously a lot of people love her music. I find her singing whiny and grating. There are obviously plenty of people who'd pay good money for tickets to her concert. As for me...

I saw Adele in November 2016. I enjoyed her show and would love to see her again if I can find tickets before they get picked up by ticket brokers. While her songs are dark and of heart broken relationships, she put out a great performance.  No way I would spend $2K - $5K to see her again.  I did sign up for her pre-sale tickets and will know on December 7 if I get to try to purchase tickets.  If not, that's fine too.  I do have memories from her last tour to reminisce.

Such horrible news... how are we to deal with this nightmare?

"Listen, I'm so sorry, but my show ain't ready," she tearfully began in a video posted on social media. "We've tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we've been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID. Half my crew, half my team are down with COVID, they still are and it's been impossible to finish the show. And I can't give you what I have right now and I’m gutted. I'm gutted."

Adele fans who bought tickets to her 13 week run Vegas run on Stub Hub are pretty much sunk for now.

It’s not exactly Stub Huh’s fault. It’s unclear when they knew she was going to throw in the towel. But I’ve talked to their people and this is what they have to say:

Adele didn’t cancel, she postponed. The wording — through tears — was very specific. The shows are supposed to be re-scheduled.

Until that happens, holders of tickets bought on Stub Hub can’t do anything. They can’t re-sell. They can’t get refunds.

She’s rolling with the reality of the times - it takes lots of personnel to produce a Vegas star show. If you don’t have people to do the work, especially after rehearsals have begun, you postpone the opening. People will get their money’s worth later - as we do when scheduling a popular provider. No doubt it’s going to be dazzling.

But. Comparing Adele to the (attractive and skilled)men we discuss here is crazy, silly. Preposterous. $30,000????

I would never pay that amount to eat her ass.

The beauty of our nation is our free market system - if Adele thinks a VIP seat is worth 30k, and a person thinks an evening at an Adele performance has 30k of value to them, bingo - capitalism! If Kroger thinks they can get $4.99 for a loaf of bread, that's their business model - but my choice will be to decline participation in that transaction.

I would certain to sit in a car with her and do karaoke like James Corden did~ She was perfectly fun there~
a second point: Don’t most ticket sales companies also offer insurance for such things~?

The ticket price ranges from around 800 to 3000 dollars, about on par with Hamilton ticket prices.

Exactly.  What people here are quoting is secondary market pricing, where the sky's the limit.

Ticketmaster's top price on Adele was $3k.  Which is not an odd price for an A-list performer's front-row.  Every other headliner in Vegas is charging this, as well as McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, Taylor Swift or Beyonce.

Ah, Daily Mail just being the Daily Mail.  Stirring that pot.

People who purchased their tickets through TM or a reliable reseller like StubHub will get their money back.  If they still have doubts, they can always file chargebacks with their credit card companies.  It's a simple thing.

Buying any live concert ticket during a pandemic should come with extreme caution to begin with.

Yes, through Allianz (when buying on Ticketmaster).

It's more for covering instances when the ticket holder can't attend due to an accident or sickness.

When a performer cancels the show, it's an automatic refund or an offer of keeping the seats for a new date.
