Is RentMen just a way to advertise OnlyFans?

Once it's random, twice it's interesting, but three times it's a trend. And it's now been three times that I have looked at a profile only for the guy to message me with links to his OnlyFans account. On two of the occasions, the guy said he "visits the cities where he has the most followers."

I kinda think the whole thing is just a scam to get more OnlyFans. Dude is listed as going to like six cities and has pretty bad reviews on Rent.Men itself.  

Is anyone else seeing this sort of thing?

Yes, a lot of guys have found that RM is a low effort way to promote their fans sites.  A lot of the OF guys are primarily traveling to meet with other OF guys to make content, especially if they've run through the guys in their area.  Some will pick up a few clients even traveling to help defray the cost, but they may not need to see as many as guys traveling primarily to escort.  

I've seen guys using OF to promote themselves as escorts, too.  So it kinda of goes both ways.

Earlier this year, someone reported Mateo Blanco won't even communicate with anyone contacting him through RM until you subscribe to his OF page and even then, he was asking for $2,500/hr.  I don't doubt it since his ad has been active over a year and he doesn't have one review.

The cycle is not new -just media and means of instant money! Money paid to our providers from OF/JFF is payment for content, which as you know, rarely features guest stars from the client side of the tracks. That part, right there, is same as guys being filmed for loops or features (in the ‘70s- oughts)to be released for purchase or even in movie houses way back when)  They get to have sex they enjoy with equally hot guys - just like the studio vids - it wouldn’t pay much but the fame transferred from the VHS to the Frontiers ad and a phone call… now it’s direct links to them everywhere.

When the compensation from content meets their bills, they can raise fees for time of personal 1:1 meetups with the gentry…

To some it might be a way to put their name out there and be more famous. Twitter also helps bring customers to only fans.

Maybe they simply don't need to be hired hourly they would rather film themselves with a hot guy, post it and make more taxable and clean money while having more fun.

You might be contacting the wrong guys. Plenty of escorts still out there.

Weird thing is that I didn't actually contact/message any of these gentlemen. In all three instances, I merely looked at their profile and they messaged me their OnlyFans and two of the three said they would come to the "cities that have the most OnlyFans followers." Both of those guys are apparently Turkish so they may be connected. The other guy was Latino and I think unrelated to other two since he didn't say anything about coming to my city, just generally trying to get me to check out his OnlyFans.

I don't know if it bothers you enough, @keroscenefire , but you can adjust your RM privacy settings/preferences so that providers don't know you looked at their profiles......

The practice of reaching out to potential clients who saw them on RM has received plenty of discussion on here and is always a controversial subject. Some clients say they prefer to be the ones contacting an escort while others are pleased with them reaching out. Obviously this is more about getting subscribers and not so much clients.

Yeah I have had several instances where a guy whose ad I viewed will message me "check out my onlyfans for more content". It doesn't really bother me too much. I turned my settings off on rm so they don't see I'm browsing their ad. It seems like all the guys as well on chaturbate have onlyfans and will constantly be promoting their pages during their streams both verbally and in the chat room box.

I'm almost certain, given a choice between this "Queen" and a blender, I'd rather put my dick in a blender!!! And I sure as hell don't plan on doin' either, so that should get the point across as to my personal regard for what "she's" reportedly offering. I rarely, comment on something like this in such a way, but this is ridiculous, and obviously this "provider," doesn't genuinely intend to meet a soul from the client realm. Seems the consensus here is he doesn't hafta worry about that! 
 

On topic, it's just the blurring of lines between promotion and the actual work. @jeezifonlysummed it up perfectly: Kardashian. And, yes, I have had a few of the Kardashians of RM send me messages. I ignore, and see it as a gift. I know they have no intentions of actually engaging, and it allows me to rule them out more quickly. Same when I see that OF/JFF is the lead on their ads. Good for them and best wishes, but I am moving on.

Yes, it's another trend that caught on amongst the chaturbate crowd, like having vibrating ass toys and flopping around like a fish being electrocuted.

Trend? At most, it probably depends where you are. There is a fairly limited number of guys who have made a long-term go of OF and usually they are in large metros where it’s easy to find “collaborators”. They also tend to be past/present porn guys.
 

With unfamiliar guys, I routinely look to see if they OF. It’s just part of doing research. The majority of guys with OF seem to have stopped after a fairly short time, like a lot of online stuff.

I don't always mind if they see I looked at their profiles. I've sometimes gotten some interesting connections from that. But yeah with this obvious OF spamming, I think I probably should tighten those setting actually. Thanks.
