Logical.

However, I can imagine an embarrassing situation if you are in a hotel and the guy starts being difficult insisting on money up front or refusing to leave without being paid for his time coming to keep the appointment you two had.

I prefer in-calls, so in those cases, I just leave. If meeting at a hotel, meet in the lobby.

I spent two hours with an established escort who told me that, more often than not, he requests money up front from clients he doesn’t know. I know there’s a lot of negative feelings here about that practice. It’s all been said. What I’m curious about is whether y’all are experiencing it more often these days.

I think depends on the situation... is it late at night? Does he look like he can't afford it? 6th sense, etc.

I've been told at least half of the clients one of my regular sees leave the money on the table upfront.

Upfront payment is something an undercover cop would request.  Hard pass for me.

I thought about this too.  I’m not sure to as to how far you have to go through with your appointment that you can be charged by the police for a crime?  Does money have to be presented first for a crime to be charged?  I highly doubt a cop would go through even getting naked first to cause a charge to be brought.

I have heard that in some places they can bust you en route for intent.  I'm probably a little more cautious than most.

It may vary by state, and I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is that generally one must discuss a sexual activity, and a transaction amount. If you did this prior to meeting, I'd guess that's enough. I do mention before meeting that kissing is very important to me (I doubt that qualifies as sexual activity), and I kiss upon meeting. If he won't kiss, that's a cue for me to stop the meeting (for more reasons that just the legal). I don't think a cop would French kiss on meeting.

A funny clip showing how far an undercover cop posing as a prostitute will go to make a bust, from one of my favorite South Park episodes Butters' Bottom Bitch.

You are dealing with a scam artist.

Do you say this based on negative experiences you've had with escorts who've asked for payment up front, or is that just something you've surmised to be the case? I ask with all due respect.

I've met up with many escorts who've asked for payment up front, and most of them (admittedly not all) have delivered a very professional service and a very hot, horny, enjoyable session.

Whilst I personally would much rather pay at the end of a session as opposed to at the start of a session, I'm not automatically hostile to an escort who requests the latter.

EDIT: I'm talking about payment on arrival,  not about paying a deposit (or the full rate) prior to meeting, which is something I have never done and never would do.

I'm so fortunate to live in the UK, where paying someone money in exchange for sexual services is perfectly legal. I couldn't imagine experiencing the anxiety of being 'busted' each time I engage in this most enjoyable hobby.

Reading this topic I’m curious….isn’t paying up front something that should be handled and discussed in the pre-meet discussions? Or are we talking about two issues:

  • deposit paid before meet?
  • being surprise on arrival when provider asks for payment on arrival?

I’m opposed to both. I will often leave the allowance in plain sight on provider’s arrival, as others have mentioned before.

True @sjmuktop But (as you will know) so that others are not misled: various related activities remain illegal in the UK (eg soliciting, kerb crawling, pimping, trafficking, running a brothel etc)

Yes very true, @MscleLovr. Thanks for adding some additional info with regards to the law here on prostitution/escorting, for the benefit of our friends abroad.

@MscleLovris right. Prostitution is legal here so long as it isn't "publicly solicited". Pimping, trafficking and brothel running are all against the law (though the police seem to have turned a blind eye to Villa Gianni for all these years - I suppose because it operates under the facade of being a massage parlour).

It is remarkable that Villa Gianni has been in business so many decades and does not get shut down.

Even though the manager at the facility (who directs you to a room wherein will be the guy you chose) says "enjoy your massage", does not mean that only a massage takes place.

I hope the place lasts for many more decades to come.

I would surmise that it is very rare that "only a massage takes place" at VG 😂

And I concur. I hope VG is around for many years to come.

I think we're mostly talking about the latter. I've heard of escorts requesting a deposit before a long-term hire, but I would avoid that as well. The client's purchase of the air ticket is proof enough of his sincerity. Even then, I was once burned by someone who just took the airfare. The only thing I'll send in advance is any money the escort needs to make it to the appointment (I once hired a Colombian for a week, and also paid for his passport, luggage, and transportation to the airport--as well as an overnight in Mexico City's airport hotel, on his way to Puerto Vallarta).

Unless you go to the start of the thread and disregard the oft-repeated comments from those who don’t like the practice. The question is whether folks have noticed an increase in the practice of asking for money up front. I don’t pay up front and I don’t like the practice, but are clients finding that it’s occurring more often? It’s a pretty simple question, but the thread was hijacked. Unfortunate.

Yes, OP, I’ve noticed an uptick in my experience. The last two guys I hired asked me to put the cash on the table before we began. One was worth it, one was not. As someone else has said, though, usually the ones that ask are not worth it.

On a side note, I make sure they count it out in front of me. I had one guy I paid his full fee, left, and he texted me shortly after that I shorted him $40. Bullshit.

Speaking of paying up front or in advance of services rendered, above is some discussion about a facility in London, called Villa Gianni.  That place has been in business many years.

I have used that facility.

At no time was I ever asked for money in advance.  You pay when you leave and after services are rendered.

My friends who have also used that facility reported to me that they also nave never been asked in advance for money up front.

Apparently the "upfront" money thing seems to be isolated to individuals who do not always have good reviews.

Therefore, when asked for money up front from a provider, think about the possible lousy service you might get.
